Last Will & Testament
"In the name of God amen"
I, Rosalie Schwartz of the town of Waukon, County of
Allamakee and state of Iowa, being of the age of 65
sixty five years, and being of sound mind and memory,
do make publish and declare this my last Will and
Testament in manner following, that is to say.
First, It is my will that my body shall be buried in
the Minert cemetery beside my deceased husband P. F.
Schwartz, and shouldal not have erected a Monument
over the grave of my said husband during my life that
my said Executor shall procure and have erected a
monument over the grave of my said husband and mine
or inscribed as to answer for us both, and not to
cost less than One Hundred & fifty Dollars, with
suitable foot stones the same to be paid for our of
my estate.
Second: After my funeral expenses and costs of
administration are paid, it is my will that all real
and personal property of every kind and whenever the
same may be shall be divided into four equal parts to
be give to my daughter Mrs. Adelia Meriau, another
part to be given to my daughter, Mrs. Emma R. Hughes,
another part to be give to my grandchild Mrs. Iskie
Koontz and the other part to be given to Frank
Schwartz, Mable Schwartz and Leser Schwartz, children
of my son Almer A. Schwartz to share and share alike.
If any of these children should die before my
deceased, it is my will that the share that would
have went to that one if living, shall go to those
still living to share and share alike. Hereby
revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this 18th day of June A.D. 1897, at Waukon,
Iowa.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at
the date thereof signed, sealed and declared by the
said Rosalie Schwartz as and for her last Will and
Testament in presence of us who at her request and in
her presence and in the presence of each other, have
subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

In the District Court of Iowa, in and for Allamakee
County.
I, W.O. Bock Clerk of the aforesaid Court, do hereby
certify that on the 23rd day of September, A.D.,
1897, the foregoing instrument was by the said Court
duly allowed and admitted to probate as the last Will
and Testament of Rosalie Schwartz, deceased, late of
aforesaid County and State, its execution as such
being at that duly proven according to law.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
affixed the Seal of said Court at Waukon Iowa, this
27th day of September 1897.
