Susan and Michael have 2 children: Jeremiah John born in West Union and Jessica Sue born in Decorah. They live in Ft. Atkinson; and Sandra Mae, married Charles Nelson (b. in Decorah) on 17 May 1980. Charles is the son of Alvin (deceased) and Eleanor Nelson. Sandra and Charles have one child—Sara Mae. They live in Ft. Atkinson. All the Moser children were born in Decorah.

Mary Moser has been involved in many community activities including Guild President, Auxiliary President, and is a member of the CLG of Ft. Atkinson working on the historic preservation of early history found in and around the Fort area. She did volunteer work on 2 archaeological investigations and is now transcribing some of the early hand-written documents pertaining to life in the 1840's at the Fort and the Indian sub-agency.

The family belongs to St. John's Catholic Church in Ft. Atkinson. Their favorite hobbies are fishing and walking.

Craig Mundt, son of Leslie and Leora (Bloxham) Mundt, was born at Decorah. He attended school at South Winneshiek in Ossian and Calmar. He married Linda Martie 7 Dec 1973 at the Castalia Zion Lutheran Church. Linda Martie, daughter of Merlin and Marjorie (Christianson) Martie was born at Postville, IA.

Craig and Linda farmed on the Mundt farm for 15 years. They now live in Ossian. Craig is employed at Camcar in Decorah and Linda works at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital, Waukon. They are the parents of 2 children: Jeromy and Erica.

Jeromv was born at Postville. He married Julie Bullerman 7 Jan 1994 at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia. Jeromy and Julie Mundt are both serving with the U.S. Air Force stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane, WA. Erica was born at West Union. She married Paul Davis 25 Jun 1994 at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia. Paul is herdsman for RGM Farms, Calmar. Erica works at Camcar in Decorah. They live in Ossian.

Leslie John Mundt was born 9 May 1916 in Bloomfield Twp, Winneshiek Co. to Henry and Rosa (Meyer) Mundt. His grandfather, Fred Mundt, first settled near Giard, Clayton Co, IA. He became a wagon maker and started a shop there. The family lived near Giard for many years. Then they decided to purchase a farm in Section 30, Bloomfield Twp, Winneshiek Co. Before the family made the move, Fred Mundt died. At that time the father of Leslie, Henry Mundt, became the head of the home along with his mother, Christina (Abel) Mundt, and brothers Louis, Charley, and John ’Jack” (d. 11 May 1939), and their sister Catherine “Kate" (b. 2 Nov 1862 in Stuttgart, Germany) who married (1) Fred Shellhammer and (2) Ole Smorstad.

Henry Mundt (26 Oct 1874-10 Dec 1944) married Rosa Meyer (30 Jan 1882-16 Jan 1969) at Eldorado, IA on 16 Oct 1900. They moved to a farm in Section 6, Bloomfield Twp. For many years this farm was in the Mundt family. Their children were: Glen Charles (b. 20 Sep 1901); Lloyd (b. 17 Aug 1903); Viola (b. 3 May 1906); Ruth (b. 23 Jul 1911); Marvel (b. 27 Sep 1913); Leslie (b. 9 May 1916); and Mildred (b. 27 Jun 1918). The family members married and moved away, but Leslie stayed on the farm with his parents and helped with the farm work.

Leslie J. Mundt and Leora B. Bloxham were married in 1938. Leora was born 1 Oct 1920 at Luana, Allamakee Co. Her parents were Lee Sumner and Sadie (Kelly) Bloxham. Leora attended rural school in Allamakee Co. and high school in Waukon. She graduated from Ossian High School. Les and Leora Mundt became the parents of 4 children:

Donald Lee (b. at Ossian) graduated from Luther College and became a guidance counselor in the state of New York. He married Joyce Palmieri on 21 Dec 1963 at Chappaqua, NY Their two children are Donald and Debbie. Debbie married John JoJo, a lawyer in the state of New York. They have a daughter, Malana.

Kelly (b. at Decorah) married Ruth Fry on 5 Dec 1964. They live in Prairie du Chien, Wl. Kelly and Ruth are both employed at the Prairie du Chien Hospital. Their children are John and Kris. Kris married Mike Statz. They live in LaCrosse, Wl. John lives in Prairie du Chien. He is employed at a book store in McGregor, IA.

Shelby (b. at Decorah) graduated from high school at South Winneshiek, Calmar. After graduating from college, she taught at Preston and Stewartville, MN. She moved to Castalia and was the Castalia mayor for 14 years. She is employed at the Castalia Post Office.

Craig (b. at Decorah) married Linda Martie. They now live in Ossian. Their children are Jeremy and Erica. Craig is presently employed at Camcar at Decorah. Linda is employed as a home health care nurse.
