Staff Sergeant Orville K. Sill

S/Sgt. Sill, a machine gunner on a Liberator had his leg badly fractured when his ship ran out of gass and cracked up while returning from his 48th mission, Aug. 7, 1944. He is now in an El Paso, Texas, hospital. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sill.

Sgt. Orville Sill is spending a furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sill. Orville has seen action in the air corps in Italy, was wounded, and has spent the past 6 months in a hospital.

Leland - S/Sgt. Orville Sill, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sill of Leland, is at William Beaumont general hospital, one of the army's largest, at El Paso, Texas, for treatment of wounds received in Europe Aug 7, 1944. Sgt. Sill entered the service in January, 1943. He served 9 months overseas as gunner on a B-24 attached to the 15th air force. He wears the European theater ribbon with 2 battle stars, the purple heart and the air medal with 2 clusters.
