Mathias Novak, who has resided in Diagonal with his family for the past twelve years, passed away at his home last
Wednesday, February 11, 1931, after an illness of several
years with diabetes which he had before coming here in 1919.
Mr. Novak was one of the most respected citizens of the town and enjoyed the friendship of everyone who made his acquaintance. He went quietly about his own affairs and was always ready
to lend a helping hand to any worthy cause.
Mr. Novak was a familiar figure about the town and as such will be missed by young and old alike. Although he, no doubt, suffered
greatly at many times during his on illness, he maintained a cheerful
disposition and had a friendly word of greeting for everyone. His manyfriends will extend sincere sympathy to the
family in the loss of their husband and father.
