Baker, Joyce J -
Joyce J. Baker was born at home on the farm near Blunt, SD on September 3, 1913. He was the fourth child of
Edward and Lena Baker.
When he was six years old, he moved with his family to Clearfield, IA and attended Grant Center Country School.
He also attended Clearfield High School. The spring of Joyce's sophomore year he decided to trade books for a plow
and began learning the art of farming.
The Depression came and Joyce left home to find employment. He became a welder and worked in many
states. On July 2, 1945, in Birmingham, AL, he married Dorothy Steadman Howells.
Joyce had been welding in high places for years, but on October 7, 1970, he fell 28 feet, landing on his head and
shoulder. His collar bone and shoulder blade were broken and the head injury caused brain damage. He could not
speak even after much therapy, An arm and one leg were partially paralyzed. He and his wife enjoyed their yard and
flowers until her death, May 7, 1988. Afterwards, Joyce lived with his sister, Veva, on Dauphin Island, AL, until her
death on October 5, 1996.
Then Veva's daughter, Sharon and husband David Yommer moved into the home and were caretaker until his
death at the age of 91 years and 9 months.
Preceding him in death were his father and mother, brother, Glenn, Shreveport, LA.; and sisters, Edith (Baker)
Plybori, Red Bluff, CA., Edna (Baker) White, San Antonio, TX., and Ella Mae Baker, a teacher at Mokuhum Indian
Bible School, Cass Lake, MN. Rhoda (Baker) Johnston, Diagonal, IA is the only surviving child of the family of
seven children.

Briley, Donald -
Rev. Donald Briley, Creston, IA, passed away at the Creston Nursing and Rehab Center, Creston, Saturday,
May 8, 2004.
He was born April 23, 1925, Randolph, IA, in Fremont County, to William Franklin and Ellen Josephine (Ames)
Briley. On December 22, 1946 he married Frances Anna Moffitt in Siam, IA. She preceded him in death in
December 11, 2003.
To this union there were two sons and one daughter born. They are daughter, Twyla Donese Jagger, Tarkio,
MO.; and sons William Byron (wife Janet) Briley, Indianapolis, IN., Gary Duane (wife Monica) Briley, Creston,
IA. He is also survived by a sister, Ada Margaret Cloyed, Nebraska City, NE.; sisters-in-law, Beulah Briley,
Glenwood, IA., Jane Briley,. Carrollton, TX.; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Don studied for the ministry and served several Churches in this area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, in 2003 and six brothers: Carl, Clifton, Harold, Ralph, Oliver, and
Gene Briley; and two sisters: Delores Case and Elaine DuBois.
He farmed in Fremont County until the family moved to Page County. Don worked for Henry Field Nursery, and for
Clock Paint, Shenandoah. He was ordained in Prescott on April 25, 1965 at the Prescott Christian Church. He received
a certificate honoring him with the distinction of Minister, Emeritus from the Prescott United Church and retired in
Bethany, MO in 1987.
Don was a member of the First Christian Church, Creston, and a former member of the Prescott Masonic
Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star,
He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1942 and attended Tarkio College, Tarkio, MO. and received his
Bachelor's degree in 1960. He received his Bachelor of Divinity from Drake University in 1965.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am. Thursday, May 13 at the First Christian Church, Creston. Dr. Ray
Miles of the First Christian Church and the Rev. Dr. Jeanne Groom will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen
Cemetery, Prescott. the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 12 at the Funeral home.
No public viewing is scheduled. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church, Creston and/or the Prescott

Cason, Brenda Lee Sams -
Brenda Lee (Sams) Cason was born October 31, 1966 to Don and Wanda (Waddell) Sams at the Rosary Hospital,
Corning. Brenda attended school at Lenox, graduating, May, 1985. She attended Iowa State University for two
years before moving to California to work as a Nanny. While she was there she met Destini's father. They
came to Lenox before moving to the East coast and on to Jacksonville, FL. where Destini Elizabeth was born,
September 13, 1990. While in Jacksonville, she met Tammy and Dave Budner, who became her best friends,
eventually taking Brenda and Destini into their home.
Brenda and Destini returned to Lenox so they could be with family. Brenda attended Southwestern Community
College, Creston where she received her LPN and RN degrees in 1993 and 1994, respectively. During this time,
Brenda met Shannon Cason and they were married, November 12, 1994, at the Clearfield United Methodist
Church. Following their marriage, the family moved to Clearfield. where they have lived the past ten years. To this
union was born Colton Samuel Cason, February 11, 1997. Soon after Colton's birth, Shannon willingly and lovingly
adopted Destini upon her request.
Brenda worked at the Creston Nursing & Rehab Center as well as the Clearview Nursing Home, Clearfield. Prior
to her death she was employed by the Greater Community Hospital, Creston. She worked as a Nurse at the
Lenox and Clearfield Medical Clinics and also at the hospital.
Brenda was diagnosed with lung cancer, August 2002. Following surgery in September of that year, she fought
a long, hard battle towards recovery. She was called home to the Lord on July 2, 2004 at the age of 37 years,
8 months, and 2 days.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Sams, Sr., grandpa Ray Waddell and grandparents Norval
and Arlene Sams.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Shannon and children, Destini and Colton, Clearfield; mother Wanda Sams,
Lenox; brother Don Sams. Jr and wife Linda and daughters, Brittany and Abby. Clearfield; brother Scott Sams
and wife Kristen and daughter, Madison, Columbus, Ohio; grandmother, Virginia Waddell, Lamoni, parents-in-law,
Dwayne and Carol Cason, Clearfield and Marianne and Earl Workman, Shenandoah; brothers and sisters-in-law;
grandparents-in-law; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Services were held Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at the Christian Church, Clearfield with the Rev. Eydie Stephens
officiating. Music was provided by Patty Parrish and Carol Ann Kinder.
The Casketbearers were: Shannon Cason, Colton Cason, Scott Sams, Don Sams, Dwayne Cason, Marty Cason, and
Andrew Cason.
The Honorary Pallbearers were: Destini Cason, Cathy Cason, Brittany Sams, Abby Sams, Madison Sams, Lily Cason,
Lori Goodman, Mindy Streitenberger. Kim Brown, Nicky Streitenberger, Deena Schofield, Janet Anderson, Ann
D'Attilio, Corene Walter, Dorene Rusk, Sundae Knott-Nordstrom, Sam Vanderjagt, Heather Lawson, Tammy
Thomas, Amy Sobotka, Michelle Powell, Kathy Nelson, and Kenny Nelson.
Burial was in the Clearfield Cemetery, Clearfield with the Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Homes in charge
of the service.

Memorial services for Danny Crowell, age 50, of the Clearfield-Lenox area, were held Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at

Danny Lee Crowell was born July 3, 1953, in Creston, Iowa the son of Lea Crowell and Leta Boyer Crowell. He grew
up in the Lenox area graduating with the class of 1972. He went to work for the Sheridan Egg Company driving a
truck and also worked for Bing Miller at the Chevrolet Garage.
In 1981, he went to work for Rosco Brown for several years before entering the carpentry business with Bill
Campbell. His latest employment had been with Terra in Lenox and with Tay-Gold in Clearfield. Danny was a good
carpenter and was very proud of his work.
He enjoyed Bass fishing, being outdoors and working in his garden. He was a member of the Lenox Christian Church.
Left to cherish Danny's memory are his long-time companion, Faye Jean Hinshaw of Clearfield; a sister Linda
Heyne and husband Terry of Conway, South Carolina an uncle. R.D. Boyer of Lenox; a nephew, Mark Heyne of
Conway, South Carolina along with many others family members and friends.
Preceding Danny in death were his parents, Lea and Leta.

Davis, Amber D -
Lenox lost one of its youths Saturday in a one-vehicle accident just north of the city limits. Funeral services for
Amber Davis, age 18, will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church. Visitation is Wednesday with
family receiving friends from 6-8 p..m. at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service in Lenox.
The traffic fatality came as the result of a 6 p.m. accident on Saturday, June 19, half mile north of 110th street
on Utah Avenue, northeast of Lenox.
The accident report by the Taylor County Sheriffs Department indicated a van driven by Cody Weaver, 16, of
Lenox was southbound on Utah Avenue, a gravel road. The driver apparently crested a hill, then lost control, swerved
several times, and went off the road into the east ditch. The vehicle rolled several times.
Also injured were Weaver; Sara Ontiveros, 17, of rural Clearfield; James (Jimmy) Shepard, 14 of Creston; and Cory
Christensen, 15, of Creston.
Amber Davis, Shepard and Ontiveros were ejected from the vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Department. Weaver
and Christensen were wearing seat belts.
The mishap was investigated by the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Lenox Police Department,
Adams County Sheriff's Office, and Iowa State Patrol. Ambulance and EMT services from Lenox, Corning and Creston
were also on the scene.

Amber D. Davis, age 18, of Lenox died June 19, 2004, at Greater Community Hospital from injuries suffered in an
automobile accident.
Amber was born February 1, 1986, Greenfield, IA. She was the daughter of Doug Marion Davis and Kathryn JoAnn
(Haskins) Davis.
She was a student at Lenox High School where she was active in speech and drama club and the high school chorus,
She belonged to the Presbyterian Youth Group.
Amber had worked a short time for Cheese's Shurfirie Food Center in Lenox. She had done babysitting
for several families in the Lenox area, a "job" that she enjoyed since she loved to be with children.
She was a fan of Dale Earnhart Sr. and Jr. and was a huge NASCAR racing fan. She was also a fan of the Kansas
City Chiefs football team. Amber also enjoyed the time spent playing video games with her many friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 24, 2004, at the Presbyterian Church in Lenox, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Tim
Maxa will officiate the service. Burial will be at the West Fairview Cemetery, Lenox.
Visitation will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, and the family will receive friends from 6-8
p.m. at the Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Service. Memorials may be made to the family and/or
Presbyterian Church, Lenox, IA.
Survivors include her father, Doug (stepmother, Cindy) Davis, Council Bluffs; mother Kathryn Davis, Miami, FL.;
brothers Billy Bald, Miami, FL., Jeff (wife Sharon) Bald, Miami, FL.; sisters Christy (husband Ron) Gothiaer, Miami,
FL. and Kerrie Balk, Miami, FL.; Grandparents Roquel and Sandy Davis, Lenox; great-grandparents Raymond and

Douglas, Betty Jane Roberts -
Funeral services for Betty Douglas, age 73, of Prescott, were held on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at
the Prescott United Church of Christ. Betty died Sunday, May 16, 2004 at the Creston Nursing & Rehab Center.
Interment was held in the North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Memorials can be directed to the Creston Nursing &
Rehab Center. Arrangements were by the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.
Betty Jane Douglas was born August 8, 1930 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Charles Roberts and Gladys Davis
Roberts. Her father passed away at an early age. Her mother later married Jess Green and he adopted Betty.
She grew up in the Corning and Prescott areas, graduating from Prescott High School in 1948. On February 19,
1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Douglas in Prescott. To this loving union three children were born.
Over the years Betty had worked as a waitress in Colorado, Red Oak, and Creston. Betty worked at Hanson's
Drug Store in Creston for several years. She had also been employed at the Meat Market in Prescott and Lazy
Ike Corporation in Corning for several years, and she had also cleaned the Prescott church for many years.
Betty was a 4-H Leader, a Sunday school teacher and a member of Harmony Circle and the Kline Museum. She had
also been a member of the United Church of Christ in Prescott.
Betty loved the outdoors and living on the acreage. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed spending time
in her garden and tending to her animals. She enjoyed cooking, baking and canning her garden produce. Betty also
spent many hours crocheting. Being a 'servant of others', she was one who put other's needs and interests ahead
of her own.
Left to cherish Betty's memory are her loving husband Don of Prescott; three children, Terry Douglas and wife
Mona of Corning; Pam Mitchell and husband Darol of Prescott; and Tim Douglas of Lenox; a step-brother Wayne
Green and wife Lorraine of Creston; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents Charles and Gladys; her stepfather, Jess Green; a brother Leroy at
infancy and a stepbrother, Darrell Green.

Funeral services for Beulah Douglas, age 92, of Lenox, who died Sunday, June 20, 2004 were held
Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lenox United Presbyterian Church. Interment
was held in the North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Memorials can be directed to the United
Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.
Beulah Bernice LeMunyan Douglas was born April 7, 1912, in Atkinson, Nebraska the daughter of
Frank LeMunyan and Victoria Kubert LeMunyan. She grew up attending rural school in Green Valley
and Atkinson High School. After high school graduation, she taught rural school in Atkinson. On June 7,
1933, she was united in marriage to Glen W. Douglas in Broken Bow, Nebraska. To this loving union four children
were born, Le Claire, Glenda, Leila and Lanny.
In 1931, Glen had moved to Lenox, Iowa and shortly after their marriage in 1933, the couple returned to Lenox
where they farmed southeast of Lenox and later moved to a farm south of Lenox. In the early 1940's
they moved to town where Glen started Douglas Gas & Electric. Glen passed away in August of 1968,
however, Beulah continued to live in Lenox until 2001, when declining health required her to move into
the Lenox Care Center.
Beulah was a member of the United Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women. She enjoyed painting
pictures, china painting, baking, crocheting and other arts and craft projects. She felt especially pleased when several of
her grandchildren continued an interest and talent in these areas.
As a young child, Beulah enjoyed horseback riding and, although she did not have a horse in Iowa, she looked
forward to riding on her trips back to Nebraska.
Left to cherish Beulah's memory are a son Lanny Douglas and wife Kay of Lenox; two daughters, Glenda
Jacobson and husband David of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and Leila Douglas of Lenox; five grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert LeMunyan and wife Betty of Atkinson, Nebraska; a brother-in-law Donald
Douglas of Prescott; two sisters-in-law, Berniece Brown of Lenox and Zelda LeMunyan of Atkinson, Nebraska; along
with many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Beulah in death are her parents; her husband Glen; an infant son; a brother and a sister; and an infant
granddaughter.

Fleetwood, Thomas Edwin -
Thomas Edwin Fleetwood, the husband of Lenox native, Delia Ann (Blair) Fleetwood, passed away at the Kaiser
Medical Center, Bellflower, CA. , on Sunday April 25, 2004.
Tom was born July 6, 1935, in Columbia, MO., to Professor J. Ross and Bernice (Turner) Fleetwood. He and Delia were
married on June 22, 1968, in New York City. For nearly 36 years, the couple has resided in Southern California.
A unique individual, with varied interests and talents, Tom was ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), as
a young man, and briefly pastored a circuit of six rural Missouri churches.
He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1958, but a severe knee injury prevented a long-term football career.
Armed with a BA degree in Speech and Dramatic Arts, Tom created a role in the Broadway play, "The Yearling" and
his television career included appearances on the "Jerry Lewis Show," "High Chaparral" and the series "Dallas."
Tom was self-employed as a darts consultant-promoter for 30 years. He co-founded the American Darts
Organization in 1976 and served as treasurer of the World Darts Federation for 28 years. He attained global respect
as a tournament director and organizer and, together with Delia, attended darts events on five continents. Since 1998
the couple owned and operated Sundowner Darts, a sports vending company with locations in the Los Angeles Area.
Tom was an active member of the National Exchange Club. Among his proudest achievements was founding the
local Exchange Club Family Support Center and serving two terms as Presided of the National Exchange Club
Foundation for the Prevention of Child Abuse. His continued awareness efforts and; financial contributions have helped
countless families to break the cycle of child abuse.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law Erskine and Helen Blair, and his older brother, Jim,
He is survived by his wife, Delia; his younger brother, Dr. J Ross Jr DVM (Marilyn), Montgomery City, MO;
two nephews, Chauncey (Marilyn) Fleetwood, Walnut Creek, CA, and Stephen (Laura) Fleetwood, and their children,
Stephanie and Lillian, Shawnee, Kansas.
A "Celebration of Life" took place May 8 in Downey, CA. A similar event is being planned in Columbia, MO., Tom's
hometown. Inurnment will be at North Fairview Cemetery, Lenox, at a later date.

Ethel Geer, age 68, of Lenox, Iowa, formerly of New Market, Iowa, died Friday, May 21, 2004, at Goldenrod Manor,
Clarinda, Iowa. Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 24, 2004, at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home,
Clarinda, Iowa with Rev. John Clark officiating. Burial with a graveside service were at Hillcrest Memorial Park,
Omaha, Nebraska. A memorial will be established. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ethel Mae Geer was born April 9, 1936, at Omaha, Nebraska, to Roy Earl Harris and Ellen (Menzies) Harris. Ethel
was a high school graduate. She was united in marriage in 1957 to Bernard (Red) Geer and he preceded her in death
September 17, 1992. Ethel had resided at Taylor Ridge Estates, Lenox, Iowa for several years.
Preceding Ethel in death were her parents; husband; and one sister. Survivors include son, Denny Geer and friend Linda
of New Market, Iowa; son, Danny Geer of New Market, Iowa; step-children: Robert Geer and wife Chris of New Market,
Iowa, Roger Geer of Oklahoma; grandchildren: Billy Geer and Heather Geer.

Funeral services for Alice Gipe, age 93, of Lenox, were held Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the Ritchie
Funeral Home in Lenox. Interment was held in the Malvern Cemetery in Malvern. In lieu of flowers the family requested
memorials be directed to the Karen Bonnett Scholarship Fund. Arrangements were by Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.
Alice Duncan Gipe was born April 18, 1911 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of Ad Duncan and Churstie Vatendahl Duncan.
She passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004 at the Lenox Care Center.
She attended grade school and high school in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln,
Nebraska with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. It was while attending the university she met her future husband Everett
Gipe. The couple was united in marriage on June 2, 1933 in Rock Port, Missouri.
After their marriage the couple resided on the Gipe family farm located in Mills County, Iowa and it was there they
raised their three children, Larry, Thomas and Karen.
Mrs. Gipe was active in community affairs in the Strahan, Iowa area and was a member of the Strahan Methodist Church.
She served as Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Emerson, Iowa and was once a "Mills County Homemaker of
the Year." She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting with Oil and Watercolors.
After Mr. Gripe's death in 1972, she moved to Lenox, where she was active in community affairs and also a member of
the Lenox United Methodist Church. She continued her activities as an artist.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Larry Gipe of Clariston, Michigan; and Thomas Gipe and wife Carol of
Edwardsville, Illinois; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grand children.
Preceding her in death were her parents Ad and Churstie, her husband Everett, daughter Karen Bonnett, and two
brothers Lester Duncan and Floyd Duncan.

Funeral services for Neva Hill, age 94, of Lenox, who died Thursday, June 17, 2004 were

Lenox.
Neva Louise Herbst was born June 13, 1910 the daughter of Clyde and Myrtle Eckels Herbst,
She attended Lenox Schools, graduating in 1928. In 1929, Neva was united in marriage to Harold
Hill in Corning, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Edwin, Wendell, Gary and Marlene.
In 1932 Neva started teaching in country schools after obtaining a Teacher's Training Certificate.
She furthered her education at Drake University, Northwest Missouri State College and
Southwestern Community College. She retired in 1975 from Lenox Elementary School,
after teaching for thirty years.
Neva loved to travel, touring much of the United States and Puerto Rico. She loved to play
cards, and did so almost every Saturday night at the Sunrise Apartments. She was a member
of the Lenox United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women having served as Past
President, the Lenox American Legion Auxiliary and was also a member of Jolly Time.,
Left to cherish Neva's memory are her three sons, Edwin Hill and wife Elba of Lenox,
Wendell Hill and wife Mickey of Lenox, Gary Hill and wife Norma of Phoenix, Arizona;
one daughter, Marlene Hill of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; twenty-three
great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Preceding Neva in death are her parents, her husband Harold in 1981, and a grandson, Michael.

Charles Bruce McGrath, LaHabra, CA passed away February 14, 2004 in LaHabra.

officiating Interment will be at the West Fairview Cemetery, Lenox.
Charles was a Lenox resident from 1942-1944.
He was born December 6, 1939, Lincoln, NE. to Dr. Charles B. McGrath and Nellie (Barrans) McGrath.
He worked as an announcer for radio stations in Kearney, NE. & Grand Junction, CO. In June 1962 he
became the night announcer with KRSN in Los Alamos, and he held that position for 35 years.
In 1985 he received the New Mexico Associated Press Award of Merit for Spot News.
He is survived by his brother, Tom (wife Sylvia), Macogdoches. TX; a sister Sarah Aiken, Laguna Niguel,
CA.; and a nephew Charles McGrath, Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to the Lenox Public Library.

Nevill, Violet Goodale -
Violet (Goodale) Nevill, age 95, passed away Tuesday, June 29, after a long illness. Funeral services
were held on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at the United Methodist Church, Armstrong, IA; with burial in
the Armstrong Cemetery.
Violet was born in Jennings, LA., to B.W. and Irene Goodale. The family moved to Diagonal where Violet
attended the Diagonal School, graduating in 1925. She was an accomplished pianist, playing for the
choruses and for most musical presentations in the school. She also played for the Methodist Church
and even played for the silent movies at the Diagonal Theater.
She was married to Loren A. Nevill, Clearfield on December 27, 1927. To this union four children were
welcomed into the home, Lola, Betty, Virginia and Loren C.
The family moved to Estherville, IA in 1930 where Loren was an implement dealer as well as in Armstrong, IA.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Loren; parents B.W. and Irene Goodale, 1 daughter, Virginia,
a son-in-law and one grandchild. She was also pre-deceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Left to cherish her memory, are daughters, Lola Harris, Armstrong, IA.; Betty Brant (husband Dave),
Terril, IA; one son Loren C., Garner, IA.; 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great-great
grandson. Also sisters, Vera Morey, Clearfield and Geraldine Enarson, Corning; nieces, nephews and many
good friends.

Newby, Wilma Fern -
Wilma Fern Newby was born October 25, 1936 in Taylor County, Iowa, the daughter of L. Emory and Corys
Estel (Cordell) Newby. She passed away on Wednesday afternoon, May 19, 2004 at Jennie Edmondson
Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Wilma graduated from Bedford High School and attended Commercial Extension School of Commerce in Omaha, Ne.
She was the secretary for the Iowa Department of Human Services in Clarinda for 26 years, retiring in 1996. She
was a member of the First Christian Church in Clarinda. Wilma loved her family and had a special love for her puppies.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Billie Newby, Willis Newby, Harold "Tuff" Durfey; nephew,
Roger Leroy Newby; and great grand niece Mindy Clark.
Survivors include her brothers and sisters: Rosemary Kirchner of Trenton, Mo, Marvin Newby and wife Judy of
Adair, la, Janet Sheldon of Indianola, Ia, Wilbur "Tobe" Durfey of Clarinda, Ia; special friend, Serena Patrias; along
with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 22 at Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel in Bedford with Rev. John Clark
officiating. Burial was in the Bedford City Cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.
Eickemeyer Funeral Chapel in Bedford was in charge of arrangements.

Russell, Marjorie Hoskinson -
Marjorie (Hoskinson) Russell, age 91, passed away June 23, 2004, at the Alegent Health Mercy Hospital,
Corning, IA.
Services were held, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral
Service, Corning with Dr. William H. Bray, Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial was in the
Walnut Grove Cemetery, Corning.
Mrs. Russell was born, October 12, 1912 in Adams County, IA, to Elmer and Lena (Pedigo) Hoskinson.
She graduated from the Corning High School in 1930.
She married Clarence Russell, April 11, 1931 at the Methodist Parsonage, Corning. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Adams Community Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by two sons: Richard (Joan) Russell, Robertsville, MO and Jerry (Sharon) Russell, Prescott.
She is also survived by 6 grand children, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Clarence; parents; four sisters, Ennice, Edna, Myrtle and
Maxine and a grandson, Paul.
Memorials were made to the House of History and/or in Marjorie's name.
