Her parents died when she was a very small child. She and her two small brothers, Wilbur L and William Clement, came to make their home with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Harris, who lived west of Siam on a farm in Buchanan township. She attended school in the brick school house in East River township, and later in New Market when the grandparents moved to town.
On February 1st, 1891, she was united in marriage to Smith C Brooks and moved to a farm north of New Market. To this union two children were born, Edna B and Clarence L. Clarence passed away February 15, 1938, at the (Sawtelle) Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
