E. W. Clark, 83, Dies At Son's Home
E. [lsie] W. [illiam] Clark, 83, died about one o'clock this Thursday morning, after a long illness.
He is survived by three sons and a daughter: Paul Clark, with whom he had made his home northeast of Bedford; Grover Clark of Denver, Colo.; Rev. Wayne Clark of Waukegan, Illinois; and Mrs Vira Galloway of Kansas City.
The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, March 9, at the Wetmore Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Obituary - E. W. Clark
Elsie William Clark was born in Menard County, Illinois, near Petersburg, December 4, 1862, and died March 7, 1946 at his home northeast of Bedford, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 3 days.
On July 7, 1881 he was married to Mary Emily Watkins. To them were born five children, three sons and two daughters: Ethel Viola Drumm, who preceded him in death, Jessie Grover Clark of Brush, Colorado, Nora Vira Galloway of Kansas City, Mo., Paul Antle Clark of Bedford and Wayne Clinton Clark of Waukegan, Illinois.
He came to Bedford in March 1902 and had resided on the farm northeast of Bedford until his passing. He was a life member of the Baptist church.
Left to mourn his death are one sister, Alice Wallbaum of Normal, Ill., three sons, one daughter, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
The funeral services were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. O. H. Hallgrimson. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Clark, 71, Dies In Illinois
Mrs. Mary Clark, 71, a former resident of Bedford, died at her home in Petersburg, Ill., Thursday, Sept. 27. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Petersburg Saturday afternoon and burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery at that place.
Mrs. Clark, who was Mary Emily Watkins before her marriage, was born Dec. 10, 1862 in Menard county, Ill. She was married to Elsie W. [illiam] Clark July 7, 1881. To them were born five children, Ethel Viola Drumm, who died in 1913, Jessie Grover Clark of Brush, Colo., Nora Viola [Vira] Galloway of Kansas City, Mo., Paul Antle Clark of Bedford, and Rev. Wayne Clinton Clark of Hamburg,
Iowa.
The family moved to Bedford in 1904. Mrs. Clark united with the Baptist church at Petersburg when a girl.
Surviving with the children are fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Bertie Roland Drumm.
Bertie Roland Drumm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Drumm was born near Hermon, Ill., October 10, 1885, and died June 5, at the home of his parents in Bedford, Ia. Most of his life has been spent In Iowa. He has been afflicted from childhood but throughout it all has been a patient sufferer. He was naturally affectionate, kind and confiding. He was also religious, having yielded himself to careful home instruction. He was one of six brothers, one of whom preceded him to the better land. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents, four brothers and two sisters besides a number of more distant relatives. Two of the brothers live in Oklahoma. The funeral was held at the home of his parents, Sunday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. William B. Thompson. Interment was in Fairview cemetery.

Former Resident Dies In Oklahoma
Mrs. E. [mery] L. [oring] Drumm, 74, a former resident of Bedford, died in Stillwater, Okla., March 10. Last rites and burial were at Stillwater.
Blanche Anna Reed was born at Abington, Ill., the daughter of Henry G. [raff] and Susan [Jones] Reed. She was married Dec. 11, 1895 to E. [mery] L. [oring] Drumm at Hopkins, Mo. Following their marriage they lived at Bedford for eight years, in Kansas three years, and moved to Oklahoma In 1907. She was a member of the First Methodist church.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two sisters.

Darrel Drumm, 64, Dies in Arkansas
Funeral services for Darrel C. Drumm, 64, of Diamond City, Arkansas, formerly of Taylor County, were conducted February 22 at the Holt Memorial Chapel, Harrison, Arkansas. Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery at Harrison with Masonic rites.
He was a retired employee of the John Deere Company and had been a resident of Diamond City, Ark., for the past year, going there from Madrid, Iowa. He was a member of the Masonic lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Norma [Finch] Drumm, Diamond City, Ark.; a son, Gary, and wife of Battle Ground, Indiana; three sisters, Eleanor Olson of Lenox, Iowa, Frances Pistole of Pickering, Mo., Arlene Duncan of Des Moines, Iowa; also many relatives and friends.

The deceased was formerly Miss Edith Arbuckle, and her home for many years was in Taylor County, near Bedford. She was married eight years ago to L. [ewis] M. [yranda] Drum [m], and about two years ago they moved to Missouri.

Ed Drumm, Conway, Dies In Hospital
Ed Drumm, a resident of the community east of Conway, died at the Municipal Hospital in Clarinda at 7 o'clock Wednesday morning, Sept. 18. He was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon and was operated on that night.
The funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Conway at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon and burial will be in the Fairview cemetery at Bedford.
He is survived by his wife and four children: Mrs. Clarence Olson [Eleanor] of Lenox, Darrell Drumm of Des Moines, Mrs. Harry Pistole [Frances] of Pickering and Mrs. Jimmie Duncan [Arlene] of Bedford. There are also four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. L.[evi] B. [ert] Tracy [Nellie] of Marshal, Mo.; and two brothers, Emory Drumm and Will Drumm of Oklahoma.

Obituary
E. R. Drumm
Edwin R. [ay] Drumm, son of Daniel and Louisa [Eliza] White Drumm, was born near Galesburg, Ill., on Oct. 23, 1879 and died at the Municipal Hospital in Clarinda, Sept. 18, 1940 at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 25 days.
The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Conway Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. B. R. Weetman and assisted by Rev. F. B. Harris. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery at Bedford.
He was a member of a family of eight children, four of them having preceded him in death and one being his twin sister, Epha [May] Drumm Swinford. In 1894 the parents brought their family to Taylor County, Iowa which place had since been his home.
He was married to Miss Verna [Lorraine] Crawford, Feb. 8, 1905 near Bedford, Iowa. To them were born four children: Mrs. Eleanor Olson of Lenox, Darrel Drumm of Des Moines, Mrs. Frances Pistole of Pickering, Mo., and Mrs. Arlene Duncan of Bedford.
Surviving with the wife and four children, arc four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Bert Tracy [Nellie Ethel] of Marshall, Mo., and two brothers, W. [illiam] S. Drumm of Frederick, Okla., and E. [mory] L. [oring] Drumm of Stillwater, Okla.
Mr. Drumm united with the Bedford Baptist Church at the age of 30 years and after moving to Conway attended services there. He was a loyal and devoted Christian.

Mrs. L. M. Drumm.
Mrs. Ethel V. [iola] Drumm was born in Petersburg, Ill., April 26, 1882, and died at her home northeast of Bedford Wednesday, February 26, 1913.
In her early childhood she moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. [lsie] W.[illiam] Clark to Barton county, Mo., and later to Rockport, Mo., where she was married to Bert West. To this union was born a son, Clare, who survives. March 8, 1908, she was united in marriage to Lewis Drumm. To this union were born two daughters, Pearl and Ruby.
Mrs. Drumm was a member of the Baptist church, having become a Christian in early life.
The funeral services were held at the home Friday, conducted by Rev. William B. Thompson and Dr. J. W. Neyman. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.

A Sad Summons.
L. [ouis] M. [yranda] Drumm and mother were summoned to St. Joseph on the Monday afternoon train by the sad news that Fred Drumm had died that morning in that city of pneumonia. He had been sick only a few days. The remains were brought to Bedford and the funeral exercises held in the M. E. church at 1 o'clock p. m. yesterday, conducted by Rev. T. J. Ream. Interment in Fairview cemetery. The bereaved ones have universal sympathy in their hour of affliction.
Fred [erick] N. [ewton] Drumm, son of Daniel and Louisa [Eliza White] Drumm, was born February 16, 1871, in Knox county, Illinois. He united with the M. E. church at Hopkins in 1891. He was united in marriage to Ella Edwards October 4,1893. To this union was born one son, Roy [Newton], who is now 8 years old. Mr. Drumm died September 15, 1902, at his home in St. Joseph, Mo., aged 31 years, 6 months and 29 days.

Final Rites Held January 27 For Verna Drumm
Funeral services for Mrs. Edwin (Verna) Drumm, 85, of Bedford, were held January 27 at the Bedford Baptist Church with Rev. Ollie Odle officiating. Mrs. Drumm died January 24,1968 at Saint Francis Hospital in Maryville, Mo. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.
Verna Lorraine Crawford, daughter of Francis [Frances] Luella [Strader] and Charles [Henry] Crawford, was born on September 20, 1882 near Petersburg, Illinois.
She lived near Petersburg until the age of eleven. At this time she and her family moved near Bedford.
On February 8, 1908 she was united in marriage to Edwin Ray Drumm. To this union four children were born, Eleanor, Darrel, Frances and Arlene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin, on September 18, 1940, her father and mother, and a sister, Edna Derry.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. Clarence Olson of Lenox, Iowa, Darrel Drumm of Madrid, Iowa, Mrs. Harry Pistole of Pickering, Mo., Mrs. J. W. Duncan of Des Moines, Iowa; her sister, Mrs. Iva Davidson and a brother Phil Terry both of Bedford; one daughter-in-law, Norma Drumm, and three sons-in-law, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Drumm was a faithful member of the Baptist Church in Bedford, the Women's Society and Senior Citizens group. Her faith never wavered and she had indicated several times in her final days that she was ready to be taken unto the Lord.
She remained interested in nature, attending her garden and flowers throughout her lifetime.
She was a kind and loving mother, a devoted wife, a wonderful neighbor, a friend of many, and always ready to help those in need. She will sadly be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Lula Terry, 77, Dies At Athens, Ill.
Mrs. Lula Terry [Frances Luella Strader Crawford], daughter of Isom [Perry] and Mary [Jane Yardley] Strader, was born near Petersburg, Ill., Jan. 19, 1860, and died Saturday, Feb. 6 1937, at her home near Athens, Ill.
Surviving are the following children: Mrs. B. [en] J. Derry of Athens, Ill., Mrs. E.[dwin] R. [ay] Drumm of Conway, Mrs. Iva Davidson of Bedford, Phil A. [zel] Terry of Bedford; also sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Obituary
Mrs Lula Terry, 77, died Sunday, Feb. 7 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ben Derry at Athens, Ill., following a long illness.
The funeral services were held at the First Baptist church in Athens, Ill., Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 9, conducted by Rev. F. A. Wirth. Burial was in the Rose Hill cemetery.
Lula [Frances Luella] Strader was the daughter of Isham [Isom] P. [erry] and Mary [Jane] Yeardley [Yardley] Strader and was born at Athens, Ill., Jan. 19, 1860. She grew to womanhood in the Bakers Prairie community and early in life became a member of the Bakers Prairie Baptist church. Later, her membership was transferred to Bedford. When she returned to Illinois about nine years ago, she transferred her membership to the First Baptist church at Athens.
She was married Oct. 16, 1878 to Charles [Henry] Crawford. To them were born four children, three daughters and a son. The son died in infancy. Mr. Crawford died Nov. 1, 1884.
Dec. 27, 1893 she was married to [James] Azel Terry. To them was born one son. Following her marriage to Mr. Terry, they came to Iowa.
Surviving are three daughters and one son, Mrs. Ben Derry of Athens, Ill., Mrs. Ed Drumm of Conway, Mrs. Iva Davidson and Philip [Azel] Terry of Bedford. Also one brother, Edward Strader of Farmington, Iowa, sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Phillip A. [zel] Terry, 76, of Bedford were held Wednesday at Shum - Novinger Funeral Home here, conducted by Carl Cummings. Mr. Terry died Monday, Nov. 29, 1971. Interment was at Bedford Cemetery, Bedford.

Phillip A. Terry Rites Held Here December 1
Funeral services for Phillip Azel Terry, 76, long time resident of Bedford, were held December 1 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home here with Carl Cummings officiating. Mr. Terry died at Municipal Hospital in Clarinda November 29, 1971. Military honors were conferred at Bedford Cemetery, Bedford.
Phillip Azel Terry, son of James Azel and Lula Terry [Frances Luella Strader Crawford] was born July 4, 1895 in Taylor County.
On May 1, 1923 he was united in marriage to Edyth Mae Reeves, who died March 23, 1949. To this union six children were born.
On November 20, 1957, he married Anna Bowers of Bedford.
He is survived by his wife, Anna, two sons, Doyle of Omaha, Nebraska, and Ronald [Phil] of Topeka, Kansas; three daughters, Phyllis of Hopkins, Missouri, Donna [Jean] of Red Oak, Iowa, Barbara of Osceola, Iowa; two daughters in-law, Helen and Laura; three sons-in-law, Edward Allen, Ralph Jenkins, and Jack McCarl; a step-daughter, Carmon Dewel and husband, Robert of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; a step-granddaughter and two great stepchildren; a half sister, Iva Davidson of Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Edythe, daughter, Annette, and two half sisters, Verna [Lorraine Crawford] Drumm and Edna [Crawford] Derry.
Phil served two years in the navy from June 1917 - Aug. 1919. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Masonic Lodge and long time member of the Bedford Fire Department.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
