Bedford Argus Thursday May 1, 1879 p. 4 DIED SNYDER. - At the residence of her father, Mr. Simeon Wright, April 27th, 1879, Mrs. Edith Snyder, after a lingering illness, aged 19 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Deceased was born in Clayton Township, where she has ever since resided. On the 19th day of December 1877,she was married to Mr. [William] Henry Snyder. One child, a fine boy, now near seven months old, was born to her and when it was two months old she began to decline. The best medical skill in the country was employed, and everything that fond affection could suggest or money could purchase was lavished without stint on the dear sufferer. But the fell destroyer, consumption, whose insidious advances it seems impossible to check, had marked her for his own. Gradually she failed and grew weaker, until the morning of the 27th when she requested her father to send for her brothers and sisters as she felt the hand of death upon her. Soon all were gathered around her bed, and after kissing each one a fond farewell, she sank to rest as calmly and peacefully as a babe upon its mother's breast. She leaves husband and child to mourn the lost of a dear wife and fond mother, parents to grieve for a dutiful and affectionate daughter, and brothers and sisters to weep over the grave of a loving and loved sister. They all have the earnest sympathies of everyone in their sad bereavement. A. T. S. [Snyder, Edith Wright] Bedford Argus Thursday May 1, 1879 p. 4 Mrs. Edith Snyder, a lovely and accomplished lady, and the daughter of Simeon Wright, Esq., died last Sabbath of consumption.
