[Bruner, Darline Gwendolyn] Bedford Times-Republican Thursday August 21, 1913 p. 8 CONWAY Darline, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bruner, died at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Susan Bruner, Friday evening, aged 2 ½ years. She was sick but a short time but suffered severely. Clearfield Enterprise Thursday September 21, 1916 p. 5 John [Harrison] Buell died at Conway on Wednesday of last week, and funeral services were held there on Friday. [Burch, Louisa “Louie” Folk] Bedford Times-Press Thursday July 6, 1939 [p. 1] Mrs. C. N. Burch of Conway Dies Mrs. C. [larendon] N. Burch, a resident of Taylor County for many years, died at her home in Conway, Sunday, July 2. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Conway Monday afternoon, July 3, conducted by Rev. B. R. Weetman. Burial was in the Conway cemetery. Louie Folk, daughter of Peter and Katherine [Letterman] Folk, was born Oct. 31, 1877 in Peoria County, Ill., near Brunfield [Brimfield], being aged 61 years, 8 months and 1 day at the time of her death. She came to Iowa with her father, four sisters and one brother, settling on a farm near Guss in Taylor County. When but a girl she united with the Methodist church. Dec. 13, 1899 she was united in marriage to Clarendon Burch of Bedford. To them were born six children. Her husband and one son preceded her in death. Mrs. Burch had been in failing health for several years. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, thinking always of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and by all those who knew her. She is survived by her children, [Eugene] Franklin Burch of Conway, Mrs. Edith [May] Saylor of Gravity, Mrs. Pearl [Alma] Cloyd of Pomona, Calif., Mrs. Opal Poole of Bedford, Miss Hazel Burch of Holdrege, Nebr.; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. R. H. Mosley of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. S. M. Burright of Guss, Mrs. Luther Gentzler, Miss Lena Folk and one brother, Henry Folk all of Wichita, Kans. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors lodge. Bedford Times-Press Thursday January 29, 1981 Edith Cavner, 79 Last Rites Held Funeral services for Edith Leona Cavner, 79, of Clarinda, Iowa were held January 18, in Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, with Rev. Jim Dale officiating. She died January 16, 1981 at the Bethesda Care Center where she has made her home since August 5, 1980. Interment was at Conway Cemetery, Conway, Iowa. Edith Leona Cavner, daughter of William H. [enry] and Bertha Jane "Hurst" Cavner, was born November 29, 1901 in Amity Township, Page County Iowa. She moved with her family to Taylor County, where she attended school. In 1921, she moved to Westboro, Missouri. She helped care for her parents and worked in her uncle's home before moving to Clarinda. Here she enjoyed her work at Paris-Dunn and later in a Cleaner's Establishment. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters: Effie Barker, Mary Jeffers, and Florence Cavner; brothers: Roy, Cyle, Earl and two brothers Alonzo and John who died in infancy. Left to cherish her memory are: two sisters, Mable Robey and Pearl Hughes of Bedford, Iowa; one aunt, Myrtle Faye; a sister-in-law, Marie (Mrs. Cyle) Cavner of Gardena, California; 21 nieces and nephews, cousins; other relatives, and friends. She especially enjoyed doing things for the many children visiting her, sewing and craft.

Mrs. Christy was a former Conway resident, Dorla Jean Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moore, who also live in Omaha. Harold James Christy, son of Francis James and Dorla Jeanne Christy, was born Nov. 30, in Omaha, and died there Mar. 11, at the age of three months and 11 days. Survivors include his parents, a sister, Jeanne Frances; his grandparents, Mrs. Frances Christy, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moore, all of Omaha; a great grandmother, Mrs. Mary Matheny of Conway and a great-great grandmother, Mrs. Anna Smith of Creston. Funeral services were held March 14, at the Conway Methodist church, conducted by Rev. James Moody. [Emery, Eula Blanche Blake Ogden] Bedford Times-Press Wednesday April 3, 2002 p. 5 EULA BLANCHE EMERY Graveside services for Eula Emery, age 91 of Yucaipa, California, formerly of Bedford, who died Tuesday, March 19,2002 were held Friday, March 29, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Bedford. Memorials can be given in Eula's name. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Bedford. Eula Blanche Emery was born November 11, 1910 in Bedford, Iowa the daughter of Dot Blake and Cora Greenlee Blake. She graduated from school in Bedford and later attended college in Oklahoma. On December 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to Walter A. Emery in Pierce County, Washington. Prior to moving to Yucaipa, where Eula had been residing for the past thirty years, she and her husband Walter built a home in Bandon, Oregon, which they affectionately named "Bandon by the Sea ". They also conducted a jewelry and antique business from their home in Thousand Palms, California. Eula and Walter loved to travel and did so in over seventy-three countries. They took great pleasure in acquiring and purchasing jewelry all over the world for their jewelry and antique business. Eula was very proud to be a member of the First Baptist Church in Yucaipa, singing in the choir, working at the Information Desk, and attending Sunday School and Bible Study. She was so loved by many, both young and old alike. Eula is survived by her sister-in-law, Wilma Blake of Atlantic, Iowa; a number of nieces and nephews and their families; very special friends, Bob and Mary Massongill and family; and Pat and Martha Amistadi and family of Yucaipa, California. Preceding Eula in death are her parents, her husband Walter, a sister in childhood and a brother Charles. Lula Irene Harrison was born May 10, 1945 in Baileytown, Missouri to Burtle Lee and Irma Pauline (Cordell) Young. She graduated from Bedford High School in the Class of 1962. On June 1, 1963, Irene married Duane Olney Harrison in Bedford, Iowa and to this union were born two children: Belinda and Jason. Irene primarily was a housewife tending to her children and home. She took on other jobs working at Shell Contract in Bedford operating the industrial quilt machine and Grant City Cap Factory in Grant City, Missouri. Irene also worked at the Little Café in Clarinda. Irene enjoyed flowers and tending to her garden. She loved fishing and spending time with her family and was an amazing cook. Irene had a gracious heart, always putting others before her. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Irene passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 with her family by her side at the Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center. She is preceded in death by her father Burtle and brother Rick Young. Surviving Irene is her husband of 49 years Duane of Bedford; daughter Belinda Spencer and husband Kenny of Bedford and son Jason Harrison and wife Jill of New Market; mother Pauline Young of Athelstan; grandchildren: Krystal Spencer and Holly Spencer both of Bedford and Kelby, Kaleb and Grace Harrison all of New Market; siblings: John Young and wife Linda of Villisca, Forrest Ray Young of Athelstan, Marvin Young and wife Margaret of Bedford, Denzel Young and wife Vickie of Mt. Ayr, Janice Maxwell and husband Tom of New Market, David Young and wife Shelly of Athelstan, Frank Young of Maryville and Shirley Young of Athelstan; beloved dogs Tootsie and Sophie; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friend. Funeral services for Irene will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda. Burial will follow the service in the Siam Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be held on Tuesday, January 29 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Irene Harrison Memorial Fund. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
[Wilson, Margaret Thompson Church] Adams County Free Press (Corning, Iowa) August 17, 1928 [p. 1] Aged Citizen Gone Mrs. Margaret M. Wilson died Wednesday evening about 4:45 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. [ester] A. [sbury] Haynes after a long illness in which she has been a patient sufferer. Mrs. Wilson was 81 years old. The last two weeks she has been so ill that death has been expected at every moment. Funeral services will be held Friday August 17, 1928, at the home at 10 a. m. A complete obituary will appear next week. [Wilson, Margaret Thompson Church] Adams County Free Press (Corning, Iowa) Friday August 24, 1928 p. 2 OBITUARY Margaret M. Thompson, daughter of Elder David Thompson and Mahala [Laycock] Thompson, was born June 24, 1847 at Buford, Highland County, Ohio and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Grace I. [owa] Haynes, in Corning, Iowa, August 15, 1928 at 4:45 p. m. She was the eleventh child of a family of thirteen children, having seven brothers and five sisters, all of whom have preceded her in death. At the age of ten years she came to Van Buren County, Iowa, with her parents and lived for a time near Keosauqua, later moving to Bonaparte in the same county, where she grew to womanhood. On September 20, 1868 she was united in marriage to Daniel R. Church. To this union there were born two daughters: Grace I. [owa] Haynes who survives her, and Stella Gloe who died in infancy. Mr. Church departed this life November 4, 1881 at Conway, Iowa where they then lived. On November 12, 1882 she was united in marriage to Jerry Wilson of Conway, Iowa. Mr. Wilson died May 6, 1907 while he and Mother Wilson were at Excelsior Springs, Mo. At an early age she confessed Christ and was baptized by her father, Elder David Thompson and joined the Church of Christ or Christian Church. She was a devout Christian and lived as she interpreted the Master’s teachings. She leaves to mourn her going her daughter, Grace I. [owa] Haynes and husband, C. [ester] A. [sbury] Haynes of this city; and the following step children: Prof. B. F. Wilson of Kelseyville, California; Etta Carter, of Lenox, Iowa; Cora Seymour, of Holyoke, Colorado, and Minnie Cooper, of Conway, Iowa. She also leaves step grandchildren and great step grandchildren, besides many nephews and nieces. For nearly nine years past she has been shut-in and confined to her bed continuously. During all this time she kept her cheerful disposition and made life pleasant for her daughter and her husband in caring for her. During the past five years she took great delight in listening to the radio especially the Sunday services from various stations, particularly Rev. Brown of WOW at Omaha. For the past twenty-one years since the death of Mr. Wilson she has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Haynes. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at 10 a. m. at the C. [ester] A.[sbury] Haynes home conducted by Rev. Thenzler of the Christian church. Mrs. Lester Howard sang two numbers “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “In the Garden.” Interment was made in the Conway cemetery. Out-of-town people at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. Roy Cooper and Bannon of Bedford, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Carter of Lenox, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wilson and daughter Leona of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mrs. Margaret Rowley of Des Moines, Iowa; Miss Grace Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa; W. O. Thompson of York, Nebraska; R. R.
