had been living with her parents for the past few months. Funeral services were held at Forest Grove church, Friday afternoon,
conducted by Dr. J. W. Neyman. Interment was made at the Forest Grove cemetery. She leaves to mourn her death her husband

Mrs. Foster – Mrs. Foster, a daughter of J. Miles Bowers who lives about 9 miles west of town, died Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Foster at the time of her death was 21 years of age. She leaves a three months old babe, her husband, parents and other relatives to mourn her death. The funeral is to be held at 1 o'clock p. m. Friday, February 9, at Forest Grove church, conducted by Rev. J. W. Neyman of the Baptist church. Interment will be in Forest Grove cemetery.

died January 13th, at 10 a.m., at her home in Nevada, Missouri. Funeral services were held at her home

Interment
was in the Nevada cemetery. She
was 68 years and 6 months of age.
Nancy
Jane Rubart was born in
Champaign County, Ohio, in 1843. The family moved to Warren County, Illinois in 1853, where she
grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to Mr. B.
[enjamin] T. [albert] Wilson,
May 5th, 1866. In
1886 the family moved to Vernon County, Missouri, where they have since
resided.
Mrs.
Wilson was the mother of seven children, six of whom with her husband
survive her: Howard, Clyde, Mrs. W. I. Fisher and Mrs. Wilber Brown,
of Nevada, Mo., and Leonard and Minnie of Slater,
Wyo. Besides her husband
and children, her aged mother, Mrs. M. [inerva] Rubart and her sisters, Mrs. J. [ulia] P. [aracinda]
Atkins, Mrs. Chas. Rayborn [Ida] and her brother, A. [lbert] C.[icero] Rubart, of Bedford, and Mrs. Laura Wall, of Cadams, Neb., [survive her].

of Charles and Nancy Trumbo,
was born in Greenview, Illinois, Nov. 19. 1880 and departed this life
after a long illness, Thursday, Oct. 11 at the age of 81 years, 10 months
and 22 days.
She
moved from Illinois with her family when a small child to Pottawattamie
County and later to Taylor County where she lived until her death.
She
was united in marriage to Thomas Clinton Hindman of Bedford, who with their four children, survive
her. They are Wilbur and Wayne of near Bedford, Nina of Greeley, Colo., and Freda (Mrs. Harley Stephens) of near Bedford. Also one grandson, Marvin Stephens, Tucson, Arizona; two brothers, Claude and Frank
Trumbo, Bedford; and one
sister at Eugene, Oregon and several nieces and nephews.

lifetime Taylor County resident, were held May 27 at Madison Street
Shum-Novinger Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Wilson officiating. Mr. Thompson died at his home in Bedford,
May 23, 1965, at the age of 61 years and seven months. Interment was at Fairview cemetery, Bedford.
Andy
Dugan Thompson, youngest
son of John G. and Ella Dugan Thompson,
was born near Bedford, Iowa, on October 23, 1903.
His
entire life was spent in Taylor County and for a number of years he
has been employed in the Maintenance department of the Taylor County
Road Service.
He
was married to Flo Yoder on December 26, 1932, and to this union were born two children, Jon
Robert, who died in infancy, and Virginia, who is now Mrs. Carl Richard Coleman of Hopkins.
He
is survived by his daughter and her husband; his sister, Rose and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Derry of Bedford; one brother and his wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Baye Thompson of
Chicago, neither of whom could be present for the funeral on account
of illness; an aunt, Mrs. Hannah Mohler of Bedford, several cousins and many friends.
His
parents and son preceded him in death; also his stepson, Donald McMillin.

Dr.
G. [ustavus] A. [dolphus] Dawes was born Nov. 25, 1841, in Westmoreland County, Penn., and died at his
home in Athelstan, Iowa, on Aug. 19th, 1926, aged 84 years,
8 months and 24 days.
At
the age of 8 years he moved with his parents to the state of Wisconsin. Here he grew to manhood and at the outbreak
of the Civil War he enlisted in Company B, 5th Wisconsin
Volunteer Infantry, in which he served for the duration of the war.
On
January 10, 1866, he was married to Miss Mary Vidal at Uniontown, Kansas. To this union were born three children, Johnnie, who died in infancy, Mamie, who died at the age of 17 years, and Joseph
Vidal, who now lives at
Los Angeles, Calif. After
the death of his first wife he was married to Miss Sarah Quinn in St. Joseph, Mo., Nov. 25, 1882. One child, now Mrs. S. E. Dowden, of Galt, Mo., was born to this marriage. This wife died Sept. 23, 1908, and on
January 29, 1914, he was married to Mrs. Maria K. [emery] Gartside, who survives him. Four grandchildren also survive, as well as two brothers and
one sister.

Morgan was born Nov. 14,
1847, near Keetsville, Mo. He
came with his parents to Iowa in the year 1854 where he grew to manhood. In the year of 1870 he went to the state
of Washington. He was united
in marriage to Mary F. S. Lindsey of Conway, Iowa, in 1892. He
united with the Christian church at Hockingsmith, Wash., in 1894, and
returned to Conway, Iowa, in the year 1901 to care for his aged mother. His beloved wife passed away September
6, 1923. He was of a family
of 9 children, 6 boys and 3 girls. Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He
leaves to mourn their loss, one sister, Mrs. Mary Eisenbarger, one brother, Henry Morgan of Oklahoma and one brother, Levi Morgan of Washington.
Funeral
services were held in the Methodist church at Conway, Iowa, Friday afternoon
at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Fred Coley, minister of the Bedford Church
of Christ. It was a Masonic
funeral.

of Frank [lin] and Sarah [Van Camp] Larison,
was born in Taylor County, Iowa, July 18, 1880, and passed from this
life on Wednesday, June 2, 1926, at the age of 45 years, 11 months and
15 days.
She
was the second of five children, all of whom have preceded her in death
except her sister, Hallie M. Larison of Bedford. When 14 years
of age she was baptized and became a member of the Union Baptist Church. Later, her membership was brought to the
First Baptist church of Bedford.
On
October 23, 1906, she was united in marriage to Frank E. [verett]
Coppel and to this union one son, John Harold, was born August 16, 1907. Six years ago June 8, 1920, this beloved
son preceded his mother to their heavenly home.
Mrs.
Coppel was a lover of her home and of all things beautiful, and especially
of flowers. Her loving
and thoughtful help to friends and neighbors will never be forgotten.
The
severe suffering of the last months of her life was patiently endured
and she said she was ready for the end, which came quietly.
There
remains to mourn, her husband, Frank E. [verett] Coppel, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Larison,
one sister, Miss Hallie M. Larison,
all of Bedford; three uncles, J. E. Larison of Bedford, K. E. M. Larison of Hopkins, and David Van Camp of Bedford; two aunts, Laura Boyer of Warrensburg, Mo., and Mrs. Martha John of Denver, Colo.; and several cousins and a host
of friends.
The
beauty of her Christian character brought joy and gladness to many and
her influence shall live forever in the hearts and lives of those who
knew and loved her.
Funeral
services were held from the Baptist Church last Friday, Rev. Fletcher
in charge, and interment was given in Fairview.

services for Frank Everett Coppel,

Funeral Home, were conducted by Carl Cummings. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford.
Frank
Everett Coppel, son of William and [Louisa] Lida Coppel,
was born at Conway, Iowa, October 23, 1874 and departed this life in
Bedford at the Armstrong Rest Home, July 3, 1963, at the age of 88 years,
eight months and ten days.
His
entire life was lived in Taylor County, Iowa, where he attended the
public schools, sharing in the various neighborhood activities, and
learning at an early age to assume a part of the family cares and responsibilities.
On
October 23, 1906 he was united in marriage to Etta May Larison at Maryville, Missouri, and they established their
home, living for a major portion of the time on a farm north of Bedford. To them was born one son, John Harold Coppel,
who passed away by drowning on June 8, 1920. His wife Etta died in 1926.
He
united with the Bedford Baptist Church in 1911 and this was his church
home, until in his later years while residing in Gravity, he attended
the Christian Church at that place.
On
April 9, 1934, he was united in marriage to Martha [Ann Parks] Harris and together they shared the comforts of a happy
home until she passed away January 20, 1957.
He
was a kind and considerate husband and father, friend and neighbor.

Mrs. Abe Miller Died At Her Home Friday
Mrs.
Abe Miller, who had been
in ill health for some time, passed away at her home in north Bedford
last Friday night. The
funeral services were held last Monday, May 31, at the Church of Christ,
conducted by the minister, Fred Coley, and interment given in Graceland
cemetery. The singers at the service were E. B.
Bradley, Tom Zachary, Miss Gladys Fletcher and Mrs. B. T. Paschal.
Della
May Dougherty was born
April 22, 1873, in Page County, Iowa, and at the age of seven years
moved with her parents to Bedford, Iowa, where she has since made her
home. She was united in marriage August 1, 1899,
to Abraham Miller of
this city, who at present is rural mail carrier on Route 4 out of Bedford.
For
over eighteen years she had been a faithful member of the local Church
of Christ. She is survived
by her husband and one daughter; also three sisters and two brothers,
namely, Mrs. J. P. O'Neal [Dora] of Azusa, California; Mrs. Orville Hoops [Lulu] of Berkeley, California; Chas. E.
of San Francisco, California; W.[ilbur] Lee of Rio Vista, California; Mrs. Myra Abbott of Bedford, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends.

Della May Dougherty was born April 22, 1873, in Page County, Iowa, and
departed this life May 28, 1926 at her home in Bedford. At the age of 7 years Della May moved
with her widowed mother to Bedford, Ia., where she has always made her
home. She was united in
marriage August 1st, 1899, to Abraham Miller. She
has been a member of the local Church of Christ for over eighteen years. Her death brings grief to her husband
and daughter, and the three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. J. P. O'Neal [Dora], of Azusa, Calif.; Mrs. Orville Hoops [Lulu], of Berkeley, Calif.; Mrs. Myra Abbott, Bedford, Ia.; Charles E. Dougherty, San Francisco, Calif.; W. [ilbur] Lee Dougherty,
Rio Vista, Calif. There are also many relatives and a host
of friends that will miss the presence of Mrs. Miller. The following songs: "Asleep in Jesus," "Abide
With Me," and "There'll Be No Tears In Paradise," were
sung by a quartette consisting of Miss Gladys Fletcher, Mrs. Edna Paschal,
Dr. Zachary, and Emmett Bradley, at the funeral services, which were
held Monday at the Church of Christ. Rev. Fred Coley, the pastor, conducted
the services. Mr. Bradley
also sang a solo, "City Four Square."

George DeVoe Died At Iowa City Wednesday
George
DeVoe, 29 years of age,
passed away Wednesday morning, February 3rd, at 7:40 o'clock,
in the hospital at Iowa City where he had been for about a month taking
treatments. Leakage of
the heart was the cause of his death.
He
had lived in this vicinity most of his life and had worked on various
farms of this community. He
first noticed his heart trouble about nine years ago, but was able to
throw off attacks after resting a few days. He came to his brother Ralph's home here last November and was
quite ill. Application was made for his entrance
into the hospital at Iowa City and he was admitted there January 9th. He grew worse steadily until the end came.
His
brothers, Ralph, James and Charles, as well as his father, James DeVoe, visited him in Iowa City last Sunday, called there
by the doctors in charge.
Ralph
Devoe went to Des Moines
yesterday noon to meet his brother Charles who brought the body there,
and accompanied it to New Market today where burial will be made.
The
local I. O. O. F. lodge members will have charge of the services and
it is possible the funeral will be held here.

B. F. Ginn Died At Home Last Monday Morning
Benjamin
Franklin Ginn passed away
at his home in Bedford, Iowa, Monday morning February 1, 1926, aged
71 years, 8 months and 24 days. He was a resident of Taylor County for half a century, had been
a member of the Masonic lodge 41 years, Odd Fellows 35 years and was
a member of the Presbyterian church.
Funeral
services were conducted at the Presbyterian Church in Bedford Wednesday
afternoon, February 3rd, at 1:30 o'clock, by the Rev. John
A. Currie of Tarkio, Mo., a former pastor of the Presbyterian church,
assisted by the Masonic and Odd Fellows orders. Interment was given in the Conway cemetery.
Benjamin
Franklin Ginn was born
near Xenia, Ohio, June 6, 1854. He moved to Henry County, Iowa, with his parents in 1869, remaining
there until the fall of 1876 when they moved to Taylor County, Iowa. In 1874 he was married to Melissa L.
Beaber near Mt. Pleasant,
Iowa, and to this union were born six children: William E., Katherine M., Lora M., and Ray F. Two died in infancy and Lora preceded her father in death.
There
remains the wife, William E. of Canon City, Colo., Katherine M., of Kansas City, Mo., Ray F. of St. Joseph, Mo., and grandson, Billy Ginn of St. Joseph; two brothers and five sisters: Thomas Ginn of Bedford, Samuel A. Ginn of Fargo, North Dakota, Adline Riley of Clearfield,
Iowa, Mrs. F. A. Cessada of David City, Nebraska, Mary E. Lyddon of Dexter, Iowa, Maggie B. Erickson of Creston, Iowa, two daughter-in-laws, Cora
Ginn of Canon City, Colo., Alice Ginn of St. Joseph,
Mo., and a son-in-law, Dr. Chas. Clark of Kansas City, Mo., besides nieces and nephews.
Mr.
Ginn, a long time resident of Taylor County, had a wide circle of friends
and acquaintances. He was
in the harness business here and had engaged in this business at Conway.

born near Rockville, Park County, Indiana, May 31st, 1852,
and died Jan. 30, 1926, at the age of 73 years and 8 months. He was united in marriage August 8, 1875, to Miss Lydia
Peck. To this union eleven children were born, two of them dying
in infancy. Mr. Blake was
the oldest child of a family of four children. He came to Taylor County when four years of age, and spent
the remainder of his life here. He united with the Christian church when a young man. The last four years of his life he was an invalid. He is survived by his wife, nine children
and twenty-three grandchildren, who mourn his demise.

services were held on Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30, at the Wetmore Funeral
Home, conducted by L. R. Cobb. Interment was made in Bedford cemetery.

Blake, pioneer resident
of Bedford and Taylor County, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Will Gray, near Conway last Saturday, January 30th. He had been in failing health for some
time and the last few years has been an invalid.
The
funeral was held at the Wetmore Funeral Home last Tuesday afternoon
at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by L. R. Cobb and interment given in the
Bedford cemetery.
Jacob
Blake, son of J. [ames]
M. and Mary J. Blake,
was born near Rockville, Park County, Indiana, May 31st,
1852, passing away at the age of 73 years and 8 months. He was united in marriage August 8, 1875 to Miss Lydia Peck and to this union 11 children were born, two of
whom died in infancy. Mr.
Blake, eldest of four children, came to Taylor County when four years
of age, making [this] his home the remainder of his life. He united with the Christian church when a young man. He is survived by his wife, nine children
and twenty-three grandchildren, who mourn their loss.

services for Hugh R. [ichardson] Fitch, 74, of Leonia, New Jersey, were conducted at Graceland Cemetery, August
13, 1969, by Carl Cummings. He
was the son of J. [ohn] Ashley and Mary Richardson Fitch and a cousin of Mrs. Neva Novinger, Mrs. Carl
Cummings and Warren
O'Dell of this community.
Mr.
Fitch, a retired English professor at the City College of New York,
is the author of a book of poems, "Buzzards, Peacocks and Nightingales,"
and another book, "Puritan in Manhattan."
Born
in Wei Hsien, Shantung, China, of missionary parents, he attended the
China Inland Mission Schools in Chefoo. He attended Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio, and received a
master's degree from Princeton. He also attended Columbia University.
He
taught at the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the American Institute
of Banking in the Lake Francis School near Miami and Woodbury Forest
in Orange, Va.
He
is survived by his wife, Esther Swallen Fitch; two sons, the Rev. John A. of Saranac Lake, New York and William H. of [word unreadable], two daughters and seven grandchildren.
