Bedford Times-Press Thursday October 26, 1972 p. 2 Last Rites Held Oct. 19 For Court Davidson Funeral services for Court Boyd Davidson, 73, of Grant, Iowa, held October 19 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford, were conducted by Carl Cummings. Mr. Davidson died at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa, October 16. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford. Court Boyd Davidson, son of Archie and May Haun Davidson, was born December 22, 1898 in Jackson Township, Taylor County, Iowa. On August 25, 1928 at Mt. Ayr, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Bethel Bradley. To this union was born one son, Arthur Verne. Court and Bethel lived on a farm six miles east of Bedford until December 1959. They then left the farm and lived at Page's Boat Yard, Gravois Mills, Missouri, and spent their winters in Florida or Port Isabel, Texas. In 1966 they moved to their present home at Grant, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Clay Davidson. Those surviving include his wife, Bethel; son, Verne; daughter-in-law, Rosemary; two grandsons, Kenneth and Roger of Cumberland, Iowa; sisters, Belle and Hazel Davidson and Violet Haynie of Bedford; nephews and their families, Russell and Shirley Haynie, Sondra and Steven of Lake Lotawana, Mo., Richard and Janet Haynie and Tammie of Kansas City, Mo., Edward Haynie of Raytown, Mo.; a cousin, Minnie Hoover, who lives in the Davidson home at Bedford; numerous other cousins, friends and neighbors. Court had been in poor health for the last year. He was particularly the friend of all the children around him and especially enjoyed working and visiting with them. He was a kind and loving husband, father and brother. His memory will always be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Santa Barbara News Press Thursday April 15, 1965 p. B-7 Streeter Services LOMPOC (VNS) - Graveside services will be held this afternoon at 3:30 at Evergreen Cemetery for Mrs. Zelda [Hoover] Streeter, 88, who died in Camarillo Monday. She was born in Bedford, Ia., Nov. 30, 1876 and resided in Lompoc for 50 years [STREETER, ZELDA HOOVER] Bedford Times-Press Thursday October 26, 1972 p. 2 Hallie Laub, 82, Rites Oct. 20 Funeral services for Mrs. Archie (Hallie) Laub, 82, of Bedford, were held October 20 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home here conducted by Carl Cummings, assisted by Rev. Ivo Randels. Mrs. Laub died October 17, 1972, at Pearl Terrace Manor in Bedford. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford. Mrs. Hallie Helen Laub was the daughter of John and Sarah King Mohler. She was born in Clayton Township, Taylor County, on Aug. 30, 1890. She attended college at Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls and Iowa State University, Ames. She taught school for 12 years in both Page and Taylor counties. She was united in marriage to Archie Laub of Braddyville July 20, 1926. They farmed in Page County until 1946 at which time they moved to a farm near Sharpsburg, Ia., where they lived until her husbandŐs failing health compelled them to leave the farm and move to Clarinda. Mr. Laub died Nov. 5, 1962. Mrs. Laub then moved to Bedford to be near her relatives and old time friends. There were no children born to this union. A niece, Arlene Mohler, made her home with her and attended Bedford Community High School and helped care for her in her last illness. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Sharpsburg, joining when she was a young girl. Those who preceded her in death were her husband, her father and mother, one brother, Harold Mohler, and wife Nora. Left to cherish memories of a good life are her sister, Hazel, and husband, Glenn Brown; Flo Randels and her husband, Rev. Ivo Randels; four nephews, two nieces and their families; many cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a loving and faithful helpmate and wife and a sister to be cherished. Her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. Bedford Times-Press Thursday October 26, 1972 p. 2 Finis Park, 74, Last Rites Held October 21 Funeral services for Finis Downing Park, 74, of Bedford, held October 21 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home here, were conducted by Rev. Ollie Odle. Mr. Park died October 17, 1972, at Municipal Hospital in Clarinda. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Bedford. Finis Downing Park, son of Thomas Park, Sr., and Mary Montgomery, was born in Petersburg, Illinois, June 22, 1896. When Finis was two years of age, he moved with his parents to Taylor County, Iowa, where he resided the rest of his life. Mr. Park was united in marriage to Ruby Stephens on March 5, 1925, and to this union two children were born, one of whom died in infancy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Barbara Ann, one sister, Anna [Perkins] Berry, and two brothers, William and Thomas Park. Finis is survived by his wife, Ruby, of the home; his son, Richard, and his wife Donna; three grandsons, Stephen, Randall and David, all of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Arthur Park of Bedford, three sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. In his youth he joined the Presbyterian Church, but during his married life he was faithful in attendance with his family at the First Baptist Church, Bedford. Finis engaged in farming all his life and had lived on their farm near Gravity for 24 years. He was a kind, industrious man who will be greatly missed by his many friends and neighbors as well as by his family. |
