The Community Shocked

Sunday evening about 6:00 oÕclock, word was sent out over the phone announcing the death of Mrs. V. [irgil] M. Kinnison [Loa Keith], wife of the Clerk of the District Court, which took place at the home of her sister [Zetta Keith Thompson] south of Bedford.  Mrs. Kinnison had gone to the country to visit her sister, when she was taken seriously ill.  Medical aid was secured and everything done that could be, but death claimed her Sunday evening.  Mrs. Kinnison was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. [oseph] H. Keith [Polly Helm], reared in Bedford and before her marriage was one of our teachers in the Bedford schools, and was one of BedfordÕs best girls.  Everybody was LoaÕs friend and her sudden death has cast a gloom over the entire city and saddened many hearts.

She could say with the poet:

ÒI know not what the future hath,

     Of marvel or surprise;

Assured alone that life and death

      His mercy underlies.

ÒAnd so beside the silent sea,

       I wait the muffled oar;

No harm from Him can come to me

       On ocean or on shoreÓ.

At the time of her death, she was aged 31 years, 8 months and 8 days.

Funeral services will be held at the Christian church today (Tuesday), December 11, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Leslie Cobb.  Interment will be made in Bedford Cemetery.

The husband, parents and relatives have the deepest sympathy in their great loss.
