C. F. Dresher died at his home in west Bedford Saturday.  The funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Joe W. Goodsell, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church.  Interment was made in Bedford cemetery.

Charles F. [ranklin] Dresher was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania, July 26, 1833.  He was the son of Stephen and Louisa Sneaybarger Dresher.  The father was also a native of Berks County and of German descent.  The mother was born in Switzerland.  Mr. Dresher was reared on his father's farm in Berks County, Pennsylvania, and there received his early training.  Seven years were spent in the German schools of that district, and at the age of fourteen he began his study of the English language.  In this way he became fluent in both languages, being able to translate from one to the other with ease.  At the age of twenty-two he moved to Indiana, where he accepted a position as clerk in Worthington.  At the end of one year he went to Owen County, that state, and in 1858 came to Taylor County, Iowa, settling on a farm in Polk Township.  In 1900 he moved to Bedford, where he lived until the day of his death.  On the 24^th day of June 1858, he was married to Miss Nancy [Jane] Morris, a daughter of Jesse and Polly Morris.  Their family consisted of five children: Mary Louise, the wife of Frank Hamilton of Polk township, Charles Oscar, deceased, Jesse, Handel, Sask., Canada; Anna Dresher, and [Lydia] Arminta, wife of W. [alter] E. [dward] Myers of Bedford.

For over fifty years he has been a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal church.  He was very active in the church work before he became too feeble to attend service.

Mr. and Mrs. Dresher were two of the charter members of the High Prairie Church.

Obituary - Albert S. Dresher.

Albert S. Dresher was born at Centre Hall, Centre County, Pa., July 6, 1849, and died at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, July 11, 1914, at the age of 65 years and 5 days.

He was married to Miss Elizabeth Beck September 1, 1870, at Bedford, Taylor County, Iowa.  To this union there were born eight children.  The wife and seven of the children survive the father.  The children are, William E. Dresher, of Kanawha, Iowa; Mrs. Dora Dain, of Bellevue, Iowa; Mrs. George Hyde, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; C. M. Dresher, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mrs. R. H. Skinner of Kenwood Park, Iowa; Albert V. Dresher, of Kenwood Park, Iowa, and Orion Dresher, of Kenwood Park, Iowa.  Besides the wife and the children he is survived by seventeen grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers, Charles F.[ranklin] Dresher, of Bedford, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Stroup of Max, Neb.; Mrs. Hannah Crotzer, of Red Bluff, Cal.; and George W. Dresher, of Omaha, Neb.

For the last two years of his life he was a great sufferer.  With a cancer gnawing at his stomach, he was hopeful and cheerful, looking forward with courage and faith.  He believed in his fellow men and sought the good in them rather than the evil.  In unselfishness he helped others and was thoughtful of their desires and needs.

He was buried from the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. R. Skinner, Kenwood Park, Iowa, Monday, July 13, at 4 p.m.  Interment took place at Lincoln cemetery.  The service was read Rev. A. W. Henke of the Kenwood Park Methodist Episcopal church.
