Cornelius P. Rhoads died at 7:15 o’clock last evening, at the residence of his son, I. L. Rhoads, on Main street, in this city. He was aged 79 years, 10 months and 22 days.   Death came to him very suddenly. Though he had been in rather frail health during the past two or three years, he was able to go about.  Yesterday he was fully as well as usual.

   After eating his supper he for a short time read a newspaper. He got up and walked across the room intending to go up stairs, but was suddenly taken ill. Medical aid was summoned but he died in a few minutes.

   Funeral services will be held at the M. E. church in Bedford, tomorrow, Oct 19, 1899, at 9:30 a. m., conducted by Rev. A. H. Collins. The interment will be at Platteville cemetery.
