The announcement of the marriage of Clifford S. Leisure, of Corning
to Ms. Beatrice J. (Jennie) Morris of Conway, which was solomized at Corning
last Friday morning came as a surprise to the people of our city. The bride had gone to Creston as did a large number of others from this place and northing was thought of it until Miss Morris, then Mrs. Leisure, wrote her grandmother, Mrs. Marsh of this, that she was the happy bride of the above named gentleman. The bride has grown from childhood in this city and her friends at this place extend their best wishes for the future happiness of Mr. and Mrs. Leisure, who will reside in Creston. The particulars of the wedding are given in the following item taken from the Corning Free Press of last Saturday. Clifford S. Leisure, agent for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. at Creston, and Miss Beatrice J. Morris of Conway came to Corning yesterday morning on No. 11 and after securing the necessary state documents went to the residence of J. E. Turner where they were married in the presence of only the witnesses, the Rev. Samuel Gregg of the Christian church saying the service. They departed for Creston on No. 4 where they will make their home. NOTE: This newspaper clipping was among my great grandmother Mary Maria MARSH LEWELLEN's things |
