While I was working with the genealogy of Cheyenne County, Kansas, I came across the George Ridnour family. Their youngest daughter, Adeline 'Addie', was born 8 April 1866, in Fair Haven, Carrol, Illinois, she died 16 Aug 1942, in St. Francis, Cheyenne, Kansas. She was married to Albert Wellington Merrell on 22, Jan 1884--or 1885. Both are buried in the St. Francis cemetery. They had a daughter Harriett Fern, born 15 Oct 1893, and she died 7 Dec 1930 in Denver, Colorado. She was married to John Michael Steller on 26 May 1921, in St. Francis. His dates are 21 April 1893, in Beatrice, NE, and he died 7 April 1962, in Akron, Colorado when he had a heart attack and a car accident. He married Anna Alice Jacobs on 23 Sep 1932, in McCune, Kansas. Anna was a teacher here for many years, everyone loved her. In fact, I believe I heard that Mrs. Merrell even lived with them. I did not have Anna as a teacher, but my husband did. Anna was born 12 Oct 1898, in Tryon, Oklahoma, and died 7 Aprl 1985. I believe she left money to the Church of Christ, here in St. Francis.
