  Pat,
    I'm sending you a picture of the class at Science Ridge School, 1898,
Jackson Township, Taylor County, Iowa.  It is accompanied by a letter dated
1971 written by Goldie Elizabeth (Barnes) Straight, daughter of George &
Deborah (Hamlin) Barnes, and she is in the picture.
    I know there were other Barnes families in Taylor County, Iowa, but I am
related to only two of them:
A) The family of Isam & Deborah (Lindemood) Barnes, whose children were:
     - Mary Elizabeth (Barnes) Humphrey
     - Amanda Aretta (Barnes) Robbins
     - Rachel Jane (Barnes) Greeley
     - Sarah Catherine (Barnes) Nation-Benjamin
     - John Wesley Barnes
B) The family of George Washington Barnes Sr., whose sons were:
     - George Washington Barnes Jr.
     - Joseph M. Barnes
     - Isam King Barnes
     - Henry Norman Barnes Sr.

George Washington Barnes Sr. and Isam Barnes were brothers, and all of the
above lived in Taylor County, Iowa.  There is a book called "The History of
Taylor County, Iowa" which has biographies in it of all the children of Isam
& Deborah (Lindemood) Barnes, which were written by the late Dorothy J. Core.
 I have copies of those!
