-More To Come-

In the near future this page will give the particulars on a group of Pella Iowa Dutch settlers who took up their families and belongings and left on a Wagon Train to Oregon. They endured a grueling six months journey with many hardships and encounters with the Indians. Some were non-citizen conscientious objectors to being drafted for the Civil War in 1862-1864. For various reasons many returned to Pella on or before 1870, then moved on to Sioux County IA.
