The old school burned down on Valentines Day 1922, after a 2 week vacation the students continued their education in a 2 room shack. A new school was erected by fall. The new school was completely dismantled and the lumber from this school and the Lyon County located 1 mile north and 1 west of Doon IA were used to build a new home in Rock Valley at 1801 - 13th Street.
