Benjamin Belt Family

Benjamin Belt was born in Ohio. He married Mary Ann Jewell, a native of Ohio. She died in Illinois. Benjamin died in Sac County, Iowa at the age of eighty-six. They were the parents of six children.

   1. David W. was born in Licking County, Ohio on May 3, 1839. He died March 15, 1926. He married Martha Jane Cargay, native of Ohio, on November 2,1866 in Lynden, Illinois. Martha died May 27, 1881. They were the parents of four children.

         1. Adelbert Walter was born March 13, 1868 at Whiteside County, Illinois and died August 26,1938. He married Katie Alberta Herrold on February 23, 1893. She was born September 16, 1870 in Polk County, Iowa and died July 5, 1937 in Sac City. Buried in Ferguson Cemetery at Lake View, Iowa. They were the parents of five children.

a. Ray Edward. He married and they had three children.

1. Donald Dean was born March 19, 1926 and died October 25, 1978.

           2. Ruth was born July 15, 1924 and died May 1986 in Lake View, Iowa. She married Henry Ray Meyer. He was born April 22, 1919 and died November 1983.

           3. Irene-married Robert Crampton

b.      William Floyd was born April 18, 1900 and died January 1987. He married Harriett ? She was born December 19, 1892 and died March 1983. Buried in Odebolt, Iowa. They had one child.

           1. Marjory-married Dale Gronemeyer

c. Wilbur Herrold. He married Ruth Clement. They had six children.

d.      Dorothy May was born April 20, 1912 and died September 1978 in Oklahoma. She married Roy L. Hoxie. He was born September 12, 1898 and died December 1973 in Oklahoma.

e. Winnie Loretta-died in infancy and is buried in Omemee, North Dakota.

         2. Fannie Edith Josephine-married Kent Sterling in 1900. He died in 1928 and she died in 1952. One child.

a. Minnie was born March 3,1912 and died November 24, 1999 in Washington. She married Arlo McRobert. He was born January 11, 1908 and died September 8, 1991. One child.

         3. William Anson was born January 30, 1879 in Sac County and died in May 1946. He married Edith E. Heller at Lake View, Iowa on December 20, 1911. She was born in 1884 and died in April of 1970. They are buried in Lake View, Iowa cemetery. They had one child.
