Tingley Class of 1954 Reunion
Members of the Tingley High School 1954 graduating class, along with their spouses and classmates, gathered at the
Tingley Cafe on Saturday, May 29, 2004 for lunch and visiting. After lunch they went to the home of Howard and
Jenesse TULL for picture taking, memory sharing and scrapbooks. Some classmates remembered different versions of the same
event. (Oh, well, it was 50 years ago!) The TULLS served fresh rhubarb pie and ice cream, a perfect ending for a lovely
afternoon of sharing old memories and bragging about our kids and grandkids.
At 7 p.m. the group gathered at the
Tingley Community Building for the annual alumni banquet where the class members were honored as 50 year graduates. Frank EIGHME presented a white rose to
Mrs. Joyce SCOTT in honor of her brother and our only deceased classmate, Dwayne OVERHOLTZER. All of us mentioned how much we
missed Dwayne, as he contributed so much and brought laughter to whatever we were doing - even working for our Washington,
D.C. trip.
Class members and spouses attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank EIGHME of Arispe; Mr. and Mrs. Howard TULL
of Tingley; Mr. and Mrs. Charles CLARK of Hot Springs, AK; Mr. and Mrs. Darl FERGUSON of Independence, MO; Linda
RICHARDS WATKINS of Iowa City; and Lucy DAILEY MAUDLIN of Rock Port, MO.
Classmates unable to attend were Louise WEEDA and Dean
BASTOW. A former classmate, Axel LARSON and his wife, Betty, joined the group for lunch and the afternoon. It had been
30 years since we were all together and everyone hopes to meet next year at the Tingley Alumni Banquet.
