The Tingley Lions Club received its charter from Lions International during a program held Thursday night at the theatre in Tingley. The charter was presented by Fee Chew of Council Bluffs, governor of District 9-C, to Carl G. Riggs, first president of the club.

Tingley Lions 50th anniverary celebration
The Tingley Lions celebrated fifty years of their beginning in Tingley. A meal and program were enjoyed at Sun Valley Bar and Grille on
Sept. 18 with 75 people in attendance.Charter members and wives were guests. John Allen and Al Ibbotson entertained with songs from the '50s.
Several district officers and past officers attended as did several from Mount Ayr, Creston and Clearfield. Several door prizes were given at the close.
