Sobotka named MVP of annual Shrine Bowl

annual all-star game. Jacob Sobotka, a 2014 Mount Ayr graduate, was named the South
Defensive Most Valuable Player at the 2014 Shrine Bowl played Saturday, July 26 at the Uni-Dome at the University of
Northern Iowa.Sobotka started as a defensive end and played on the kickoff, kick return and punt teams. He
recorded a quarterback sack and a fumble recovery and was credited with an unofficial seven tackles in the South squad's
23-7 victory over the North squad. Sobotka will join the University of Iowa Hawkeye football team in the fall.
