Triggs qualifies for national track meet
Lindsey TRIGGS of Mount Ayr has qualified for the national Junior Olympics track and field meet after placing
second in the regional meet recently. TRIGGS competed Saturday, July 9, at the regional Junior Olympics track and field
meet in Madison, WI, in three events. She had a close second finish in the 400 meter hurdles, 24 hundreds of a second off
the first place qualifier's pace. The 400 meter hurdles is commonly referred to as the toughest race in track.
TRIGGS also competed well in the 100 meter dash and 400 meter dash, but did not qualify for advancing to the nationals
in these races. She will travel to Indianapolis, IN, on Friday, July 29, to participate in the national meet in the
400 meter hurdles. TRIGGS is the daughter of Merle and Rhonda TRIGGS of Mount Ayr.
