CLARK-STEELE WEDDING
The marriage of Miss Gladys Adella CLARK, daughter of Mrs. Delbert CLARK of Winterset to Hugh STEELE, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. V.
STEELE of Maloy took place at the Charles MILLS Jr. home on West Jefferson street on Saturday evening, 9 June at eight
o'clock. The single ring ceremony was performed by Reverend H. L. OLMSTEAD, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ.
The bride wore a street dress of grey crepe with accessories to match, the bridegroom also wearing grey. The house was
decorated with roses and garden flowers.
The bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Charles MILLS Jr. Lloyd KING, a brother-in-law of the bridegroom served as his
best man.
Mrs. STEELE was graduated from the local high school in 1931 and later attended Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar
Falls, where she was a member of Kappa Theta Phi sorority. For the past year she has taught the first grade of South
Ward in Winterset.
Mr. STEELE attended the Maloy schools. He also attended the Iowa State Teachers College. For the past six years he has
been the principal of the Winterset Junior high school. Mr. and Mrs. STEELE will be in Cedar Falls this summer where the
former will take further college work and will move to Winterset this fall.

Carl and Harold, Miss Beulah CLARK and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd KING.
A wedding dinner was served Sunday noon by Mr. and Mrs. Charles MILLS Jr. and Mrs. William C. JOHNSON at the MILLS home.
Guests included Mont, Dwight and Clarence JOHNSON, Mrs. Charles MILLS Sr., Mrs. Delbert CLARK and sons Harold and Carl,
Miss Beulah CLARK, Miss Gem Woodward and Donal LILLARD.
NOTE: Gladys Adella CLARK was born in Winterset, Madison county, Iowa, February 21, 1913. Hugh Hartley STEELE
was born in Maloy on May 1st, 1903,
the son of Raymer Brown & Emeline L. (GIRARD) STEELE. He
died September 6, 1949 in Rochester, Minnesota, with interment
at Rose Hill Cemtery, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
