County SWCD holds annual awards
The Ringgold County Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners held their annual awards luncheon recently at the
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mount Ayr. Guests included Outstanding Cooperator Award winners Marty and Mindy LESAN;
Brandon DITTMAN, Field Rep., DSC (Division of Soil Conservation) and Tony TOIGO, Program Planner, DSC; newly-elected
commissioners Brenda ADAMS, Donna GREENLAND and spouses; and district volunteers Margaret and Laurance BISHOP, Deb
CREVELING and Alan TAYLOR.
Awards were presented to Marty and Mindy LESAN of Kellerton for the District's Outstanding Cooperator. The LESAN'S were
recognized for their exemplary stewardship to the land and water.
Years of service pins were presented to Beverly McGINNIS (above left), 15 years; Bill DAUGHTON (above right), 10 years and Ethel CAMPBELL, five
years. Commissioner Lawrence RYCHNOVSKY was thanked for serving the district for 34 years and commissioner Jim
HULLINGER for serving four years. After the presentation of the awards the regular monthly meeting was held, including a
meal prepared by Jan FORD.
