Broilers for Campbell's Soup are now being raised by area farmers. The most recent building to go up is being
managed by Dick WEEHLER and his son Neil WEEHLER. They began raising broilers for Campbell's Soup when they
received on November 13 their first shipment of 39,000 chicks. Mike WARIN and Joe WARIN and John PRIEST
will also have buildings.
Santa made his first appearance in Mount Ayr on Friday after the Thanksgiving holiday. Helping Santa make the
trip to town in a horse and wheeled sleigh was sleigh driver Marvin MAIN.
Grand Valley Community school district voted no to continue an enrichment tax to aid the school district budget.
Voters named Barry JACKSON to the school board to fill an unexpired term.
