Paul HANNON announced the opening of the Hannon Tire Service in the Johnston Tractor and Implement Company building, one
block north of the post office in Mount Ayr.
Cathy REYNOLDS has been selected by the Ringgold County Saddle Club as its candidate for queen of the Lenox Rodeo.
Ruth NELSON, county girls' music chairman, and Andy ABARR, county historian, are representing Ringgold County 4-Hers at
the 16 annual leadership training conference for young people being held this week at the State 4-H Camp near Madrid.
Sheriffs in the state of Iowa traveled a total of 50,037 miles, or a combined distance equivalent to twice around
the world, while on duty during the Fourth of July week end. Sheriff Elbert STRANGE, of Ringgold County, and William
WELSH, executive director of the Iowa State Sheriffs' Association, have compiled the interesting story of the sherffs'
activities in the course of their duty over the holiday week end.
