Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr

Investigation is continuing into the motorcycle-car accident near Redding at 12:40 a.m. Sunday morning in which Darrell Allen JAMES, 23, was killed. According to Iowa State Highway patrol Trooper Jerry TOWNSEND, the accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 169 and P27 north of Redding. JAMES was traveling north on 169, turning on to P27 on a Kawaski motorcycle when he collided with a 1974 Ford Gran Torino driving by Jerald Lynn MULLOCK, 19, of Parnell, MO.

JAMES was dead on arrival at Ringgold County Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance. The motorcycle was totaled in the accident and damage to the car was estimated at $800 to $1,000. No charges were filed pending further investigation of the accident.

The accident was the fourth fatal accident in the county this year and the third involving a motorcycle. The Ringgold County Sheriff's Department assisted Trooper TOWNSEND in the investigation.
