Two juveniles - one from Mount Ayr and the other a Missouri youth, who was employed in Mount Ayr - are being held in Sterling, CO., for peace officers of Ringgold County, after being apprehended on charges of larceny of a motor
vehicle. At the time of their arrest, the youths were driving a 1961 Ford, allegedly stolen from the Andy Johnson Chevrolet Company in Mount Ayr.
For reasons of ill health, Miss Vera F. Dickens, Ringgold County Superintendent of Schools for the last 33 years, has submitted her resignation, effective May 1.
Clarence Austin of the Diagonal community announced his candidacy for supervisor for Ringgold county for the term starting January, 1967.
Three Ringgold county women - Mrs. Vance Geiger of Redding; Mrs. Lloyd Weeda of Tingley; and, Mrs. Cecil Coulson of Mount Ayr, were included among a group of homemakes honored Thursday in Atlantic by the
Chamber of Commerce.
The three banks of Ringgold county have been notified by the State Department of Banking that the application of the First State Bank of Diagonal to amend its articles of incorporation has been denied by the department. The
Diagonal bank had applied to amend the articles of incorporation to change its place of business to Mount Ayr and for a certificate to operate a bank office in Diagonal.
