Trial of Clifford Stevens, 43, of Denver, MO, in the fatal shooting of a Mount Ayr youth the night of October 8, Monday was set for April 11 in Worth County Circuit Court at Grant City, MO. Stevens is
charged with first degree murder in the death of Galen Worthington, 17, of Mount Ayr. Worthington was shot while he allegedly was trying to steal watermelons from the Stevens farm. Three other
youths were with him.
Kristen K. Andrew has been named by the Grand Valley Community School as its 1966 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tommorrow.
David Neas, a senior in the Mount Ayr Community High School, left Sunday morning by plane for Washington, D.C.., where this week he is attending the United States Senate Youth Program, a
seminar on the workings of the federal government.
Dial telephone installation, which began Thursday, is nearing 40 percent completion, according to Charles Meacham, area manager of the Iowa State Telephone Company in Mount Ayr.
Dan L. Warin has been transferred from Leon to Mount Ayr as manager of the Blockton, Leon and Mount Ayr divisions of the Northern Propane Gas Company, the duties of which he
assumed Monday of last week.
