For the fifth time in less than that number of years, the West End Market on Highway Nos. 2 and 169 was entered and robbed between the hours of 11 p.m. Friday night and 8 a.m. Saturday. Cash in the amount of $60 was taken from the cash register. Nothing else was taken, according to the report of Sheriff H. P. TODD, who is investigating the robberty. Entrance to the store was gained by prying open the front door with a 3/4-inch steel bar.

Lee CAMPBELL of Pleasanton yesterday signed a contract as speech instructor in the Mount Ayr school, announcement of which was made by Paul JOHNSON, president of the board of education.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd SHAW will arrive tomorrow (Friday) in Mount Ayr where Mr. SHAW will assume the pastorate of the United Presybterian church. He will bring his first message to the local congregation on Sunday morning, May 29.

Mrs. W. E. KELLEY of Middle Fork township, who recently was selected as an outstanding rural homemaker in Ringgold county, was the honored guest at a dinner meeting of the local Lions Club held last evening in the Legion Hall.

Mrs. Willis HOOD of this city has been appointed director of recreation in Des Moines by the Recreation Commission, announcement of which she received this week. She will assume her duties June 13 and her period of employment will continue for nine weeks. Mrs. HOOD was recommended for the position by the students of two schools, Liberty No. 6 and Poe No. 9, of which she has served as instructor.

Two students, Marilyn CALDWELL and Leroy CANNON, completed their four years in the Mount Ayr high school with perfect attendance records. They were presented medals at the senior class day activities for their excellent records. Mildred DRAKE had a perfect record until the last few weeks of school when she had to miss one day because of illness.

Friends and neighbors went Saturday afternoon to the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde GALBRAITH, east of Delphos, and planted corn for the GALBRAITHS, whose son, Jerry Lee, was recently killed in a tractor accident. Thirty-one tractors and other equipment were used by the men in preparing the ground and planting the corn.
