Vance E. Geiger, principal of the Mount Ayr Community high school, has been appointed Ringgold county advisor for the Iowa Children's Home Society for a three-year term.

The resignation of James Thomason as superintedent of the Grand Valley Community Schools, effective as of June 30 of this year, has been announced.

Linda Elaine Pine, of Mount Ayr, will receive a bachelor's degree in English, and Margaet L. Sobotka, of Diagonal, will receive a bachelor's degree in science from Drake University.

Larry Hopkey is the new leader of the Junior Atoms 4-H club. He took over at the meeting held January 9 in the Mount Ayr Methodist church/
