Dekko Automotive Technologies will have an open house for its Iowa Assemblies Division Mount Ayr plant Saturday
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The plant in the industrial park in the south part of Mount Ayr, which makes wiring harnesses,
will be celebrating its 10th year in the community.
Lloyd "Boots" BEDIER, 52, of rural Ellston, is in the Ringgold County Hospital taking therapy and waiting for two fractures of
his pelvis to begin healing after a 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, tangle with a tractor. BEDIER said he was at his farm
nine miles northeast of Ellston and had just changed a fuel filter on a tractor that had been left in gear. He waas standing
in front of the tractor which started moving toward him, running over him. He felt the fact that he was able to pratially
move out of the way prevented further injury.
The Diagonal Community school district was one of 57 schools listed by the Iowa Department of Education for its
innovative Phase III program. Phase III offers opportunities for Iowa schools to seek ways to continuously improve
their school district.
