Randall HANSON and David SCOTT of Diagonal and James CLARK of Kellerton howed the champions in the market class of
the 4-H and FFA division of the Ringgold County Fair held last week. Observers called it an outstanding show, both
in quality and number of livestock. HANSON exhibited the champion baby beef; SCOTT, the champion market pig; and
CLARK, the top market lamb.
Demonstration teams fromthe Liberty Boys and the Kellerton Hustlers 4-H Clubs were selected Monday night to
represent Ringgold County at the Iowa State Fair. Dale BICKEL and Lynn DENNIS are the members of the Liberty
Boys team which was selected as the top senior demonstration team.
In recognition ofhis contribution to the livestock industry for over a half a century, Homer L. MINNICK of
Tingley Township was presented a plaque during the Ringgold County Fair held last week. The presentation, a
part of the Thursday evening program, was made by John D. WARIN of Maloy, president of the local fair association.
Mr. MINNICK was also recognized for his many years of service as a member of the fair board.
Helen RAUCH and Becky JAMES, members of the Sunshine Workers 4-H Club, and Sherol SHIELDS and Marie ANGUS, Clover
Belles, presented the two top demonstrations in the senior team demonstrations contest held Friday in conjunction
with the Ringgold County Fair. Ten teams participated in the senior division.
