John WORTHINGTON of Mount Ayr reported the loss of a 1980 Ducati motorcycle between 10 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m.
Sunday, parked at Phil Campbell Automotive in Mount Ayr.
On Saturday, April 19, the staff and directors of the Tingley State Savings Bank honored Wayne A. OVERHOLTZER who retired
from the bank board after 38 years of faithful service.
Mount Ayr Volunteer Firemen were called to extinguish grass fires over the weekend and on Sunday night answered
a call to the scene of a traffic accident at Redding. The grass fires were Saturday afternoon at Benton and on Sunday
at the Glenn PINE farm south of Mount Ayr. This latter fire was out before firemen arrived. Charges are pending against
Dennis Vern JEFFERS, 61, of rural Hopkins, MO who was injured in a one-car accident at 10:15 p.m. Sunday on the edge of
Redding.
The Mount Ayr FFA Chapter was well represented at the 52nd annual FFA conference held in Des Moines. Mount Ayr had 13
members accompanied by advisor, Mr. Steve JOHNSON attend this event. Kevin TRIGGS and Denis LINK received the Iowa
Farmer degree.
A former Ringgold county girls' basketball player has received All-American honors. She is Christy BOLES, a Southwestern
Community College sophomore, who was named to the first team All-American by the national Junior College Athletic Association.
Christy played her high school basketball at Grand Valley high school, where she was an outstanding forward. At SWCC,
she scored 987 points in her career and grabbed 543 rebounds. She missed her final five games with a knee injury.
