Named outstanding district cooperators this year at the Ringgold County Soil and Water Conservation district
commissioners annual awards banquet were Cleo and Regina LYNCH of Maloy.
The praises of many things students enjoy were sung by students in the Mount Ayr Community elementary school music program
for kindergarten through fourth graders held Thursday night at the elementary school gymnasium.
A Ringgold County resident has received the distinguished service award from the National Extension Association of
Family and Consumer Services. Michele Maquire BECK of Kellerton, Clark County extension director, received the award
at the national meeting of the group held in Baltimore, MA.
A former Ringgold County resident has been named Indinaola Police Officer of the Week in the Record-Herald and
Indianola Tribune from Indianola. Patrol officer Jennifer GROSE has worked on the force for two and one-half
years. GROSE grew up in Kellerton and graduated from Mount Ayr Community high school.
Opening of Mount Ayr's two newest health facilities was celebrated with open houses Sunday afternoon with large
crowds taking tours of the new buildings. Clearview Estates Assisted Living manager Shawn CAMERON cut the ribbon
at Clearview Estates and JoKaye SHIELDS did the honors for the new Mount Ayr Medical Clinic.
Three Diagonal high school students are taking part in the East Union wrestling program this winter. Juniors Wes
STARLIN, Justin KUONEN and Richard CASTELAN will be taking part on the Eagle squad.
The Creston YMCA in conjunction with many volunteers from Ringgold County had a four-week soccer league for students
in kindergarten through sixth grade at Mount Ayr Community elementary school this year. There were 56 students who
participated. They were coached by Diana DREDGE, Chris KINNEY, Mary K. OVERHOLTZER, Brian WIMER, Don RAY and
Veronica RAY.
