The Mount Ayr Community Raiderettes, winners of the sectional tournament Saturday night in Mount Ayr, closed the regular season recently with an overall record of 14 wins and three losses. The Raiderettes garnered 949 points to 708 for their opponents.

The Mount Ayr Chapter Future Farmers of America, was chartered February 25, 1938, with 34 active members. The present active membership is 90, with seven honorary chapter members. Twelve former and present members have received the nation's highest honor, the American Farmer Degree, and 44 have received the state's highest honor, that of Iowa Farmer Degree. Present officers of the local chapter are president, Lyle FARIS; vice-president, Richard WEEHLER; secretary, Eddie FORD; treasurer, Roger LANE; reporter, David BARKER, sentinel, Joe BROWN, and advisor, R. E. HAUPTMANN.

The Norris-Abarr Service Station in Redding was entered early Tuesday morning and approximately $10 in cash was taken. Entrance to the station was gained by breaking the glass in the front door.

The grand opening of the Real Style Shop in its new location will be held Saturday. The stock of ladies apparel was recently moved from the SMITH building to the BALDNER building, which Mr. and Mrs. George KIDNEY, proprietors of the Real Style Shop, recently purchased.

Mrs. Clarence BRABY, junior high English instructor at the Mount Ayr Community schools, has been selected to attend the convention of the National Education Association, which will be held July 1-6 in Denver, CO.

W. R. JOHNSTONE, 60, administrator of the Ringgold County Hospital, announced Monday that he will be a candidate for the Republican nomination for representative in congress from the fifth district composed of Boone, Polk, Story and Webster counties. Mr. JOHNSTONE has maintained his legal residence in Boone while serving the local hospital. He said he would resign his present position sometime during the campaign.

Boy Scouting's highest award, the rank of Eagle, was conferred Saturday on Randall FAUST, during a Court of Honor held at Wesley House in Iowa City. Randall, 14 years of age, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claire FAUST of Iowa City and a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John FAUST of Mount Ayr. John FAUST and daughter, Kathryn CHARTRAND and David and Mr. and Mrs. Howard FAUST of Chariton attended the Court of Honor.
