A preliminary restraining order has been granted halting the operation of a Missouri company alleged to have taken money
from Iowans in a cattle grazing project. A hearing is set in Ringgold County District Court Monday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m.
to have a permanent injunction granted to the state against Stargazer Cattle Company, Inc. and three defendants --
Leo "Pat" PATTERSON, Colin FOSTER and Walter C. DURYEA.
In May of last year Sheila and Scott STANLEY of the Kibbee community in Montgomery county, GA were waiting for their
first born child. By the end of June, 1995, they had four children. Scott is the son of Neil STANLEY of Jueau, AK and
Connie TULL ABARR of Clearfield. Grandmothers are Ada STANLEY of Mount Ayr and RoEmma TULL of Clearfield. The STANLEYS'
two sets of twins were featured in three of the area papers in Georgia probably because of how unusual it is to have
twins back-to-back.
Two former Ringgold county residents will be featured when a singing group from Nashville, TN visits the First
Baptist Church in Mount Ayr Saturday, Sept. 23. Gary and Ardith KEPLINGER, Victory Record Productions artists known at
The KEPLINGERS, will bring their message of Jesus Christ with the ministry of their music.
A proclamation by Maloy mayor has told Iowa Select Farms that they are unwelcome in the Maloy community. Iowa Select
Farms has purchased a portion of the BICKEL farm near Maloy and is increasing the size of the hog operation there. Mayor
Brian TERRELL of Maloy, in response to the "rapid construction of an undetermined number of hog confinement buildings
just outside the city limits" signed the proclamation Monday naming the presence of Iowa Select Farms as unwelcome
in the community.
