Marvin TRIGGS, son of Mr. and Mrs. John TRIGGS, was awarded the American Farmer Degree, the nation's top FFA degree, at
the national FFA convention in Kansas City, Tuesday afternoon, October 12.
R. C. RUSH, Kellerton, Roger STANLEY, Beaconsfield, and Kenneth WEBB, Mount Ayr, were awarded gilts by the Mount Ayr
Lions Club. These boys won their gilts after interviews with the Lions agriculture committee.
County auditor, Roy LEPLEY, a life-long resident of the county, was elected chairman of the organization that was formed
to plan Ringgold county's centennial observance in 1955.
Mrs. and Mrs. C. E. THOMPSON, of Mount Ayr, will hold open house on Saturday afternoon, October 23, between the hours
of two and four o'clock for the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.
The first and second-year shorthand girls took a trip to Des Moines on October 11. The girls went on tours of the
State House, WHO, Bankers Life and the Equitable Building. Several former Mount Ayr students were working in some of
the places visited.
