Winners in the Mount Ayr Chamber of Commerce's annual residential lighting contest are: the Mike McGHEE home, first place; the Laverne WORTHINGTON home, second place; and the Craig ELLIOTT home, third place.

The tour of homes was a big success this year with 200 people enjoying the tour. Homes featured this year were the Clyde SUMMERS home, the Dan LUTRICK home, Dwain CRAIN home, Bob WEEHLER home, Phil BURMEISTER home, Bob SHAFER home, Craig ELLIOTT home, Jay WATSON home and Helen TERRY home.

Jennie BOLES was crowned queen and Rob FUGATE was crowned king when the Grand Valley Community high school homecoming festivities were held over the weekend.

Raider junior varsity wrestler Jim ROTERT brought home the crown at 145 pounds and Travis SNETHEN won the 171 pound second place medal at the junior varsity tournament in Leon.
