Going back to real horse power has been the way Don ALLEN, 64, of rural Kellerton has adapted to tough times on the farm.
When he lost some of the land and most of the equipment he was farming with, he "went back to horses." "I was raised on
horses and ran a bundle wagon on a threshing crew by the time I was 13, so hard work is something I know how to do," ALLEN
said. With horses he has cut and raked hay, transported wood from wooded areas to his farm, where he chops it up, and may
take the horses and wagon to deliver it to customers.
