Heads of local industrial development organizations from nine communities met in Creston last Tuesday night to discuss plans for an eight-county area industrial develpment organization. W. B. Cunning of Mount Ayr
was selected to head the steering committee during the organizational stages.
86 seniors of the Mount Ayr Community High School - 44 girls and 42 boys - will be awarded diplomas during commencement exercises to be held May 25, at 8 p.m. in the school gymnasium.
Four Mount Ayr Community trackmen will be participating in the state Class A track meet in Eagle Gove Saturday, May 21. Duane Miller will participate in three events. They are the broad jump, the 100-yard dash and the
440-yard run. He has the best broad jump at 22'7 1/2". Ken Markley will be in the 180 yard low hurdles and Tom Kelly, the broad jump. All are seniors. Sophomore Dan Roe will be entered in the high hurdles.
Accompanying the boys will be Coaches Herb Dillard and Charles Black.
