A barn in Ringgold county is one of the latest to receive a grant from the Iowa Barn Foundation for restoration work.
On Highway 2 east of Mount Ayr is a landmark barn built in 1928 which is being restored.
Ringgold County Ambulance Service celebrates National Emergency Service Week May 14-20. The EMS staff serves Ringgold
county and surrounding areas. Members of the service include Larry DRAKE, Doyle RICHARDS, Travis JOHNSON, Kenny
SCHAEFER, Ron SCHAFER, Peggy DRAKE, Joe DUKES, Kelly HENSON, Jeanne RINEHART, Susan BECKER, Cathy SCHAEFER, Roni
WASKE, Jan CAMPBELL, Al RUSK, Connie RICHARDS, Jan DUKES, Marvin BAKER, Mark SPENCER, Charlotte PEARCE, Lonnie VOTAVA,
Turk ALLEN, Curt EASON, Merle WALTER, Kory KLOMMHAUS and Jackie STARK.
Two Mount Ayr Community entries will be taking part in the Class 1A girls state track meet in Des Moines Friday and
Saturday. Amy HYNEK will be participating in the discus event and the 4x200 meter relay team of Mindy STUART, April
PERRIGO, Jamie GOINES and Jana JOHNSON will run as well.
The Mount Ayr Community Raiderette golf team won the sectional Class 1A golf tournament title in Leon Monday night
by 30 strokes over the nearest competitors and advance to the district meet in Altoona Monday. Members of the team
include Mandy JOHNSON, Becky POPPE, Korbie RINEHART and Morgan DREDGE.
Members of the Mount Ayr Community Raider golf team which placed second at the sectional tournament in Clarinda were Tanner
RINEHART, Travis HINZ, Ryan ROE, Nolan HOWIE, Joe SHAFER and DUstin EIGHMY. The team advances to the district meet in
Panorama Friday.
