The board of supervisors met in regular session on January 3 and proceeded to reorganize by electing J. N. Hoover as chairman. Other members of the board are J. B. Johnston and Thomas Bender.

Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Mercer, of Chariton, arrived Monday and will make their home in Mount Ayr during the year 1917, Mr. Mercer having been employed by the board of supervisors as county engineer of Ringgold County.

The marriage of Roy Stephens and Edna Kaster will take place this evening in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kaster, of Rice township. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Stephens, of Benton township, where he has grown to manhood.
