Another of the buildings for the RAMSEY Farm at Lesanville complex was moved into place this past week. The
house took its place on the site, which also includes a barn, another farmhouse and a school building. Plans
include adding a church and a depot/gift shop building. Remodeling will be done on the two-story farmhouse to
serve as a museum for the complex.
The kidney dialysis unit at the Ringgold County Hospital is up and running with its first patient since
Friday, August 10. The first patient had quite a reception with many professionals present to oversee the
event including Dr. JAGARLAPUDI from the Mercy Dialysis Center; Dr. ASHWATHNARAYAN; a representative from
Baxter (manufacturer of the dialysis machines); a social worker; hospital administrator Gordon WINKLER, and
the four hospital employees working in the unit.
Two Ringgold county youngsters attended the Iowa State Sheriff's and Deputy's Association YMCA camp near Boone
recently. Chosen to attend the camp were Sarah DREDGE and Maddi STARK.
Several new changes in buildings will greet students returning to the Mount Ayr Community school when classes
begin Wednesday, August 22. Three new classrooms have been built at the Mount Ayr Community elementary school
along th enorth side of the corridor between the newer elementary building and the gymnasium. Other changes at
the elementary include the expansion of two Title I rooms by taking a portion of the library which had served
as a computer lab.
Eight new faculty will greet students when classes beginning in Mount Ayr Wednesday, August 22. Ray COFFEE will
be the new technology coordinator; Seth FARROW, new vocal music instructor; Chip BRUNDAGE, high school
mathematics and coaching football; Darrell DODGE, alternative school instruction and administrator; Kris QUICK,
new preschool special education teacher; Mark WAUGH, kindergarten; Michelle HOUDEK, fifth grade, and Jan
WILLIAMS, elementary special education teacher.
