Preliminary work got under way Tuesday at the industrial site southwest of Mount Ayr for construction of the new factory building.
Barbara Ann, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor, of Diagonal, and Charles Gifford, son of Lloyd Gifford or Creston and the late Mrs. Gifford, were united in marriage August 20, at Saint Malachy's church in Creston.

Born, a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Gary D. McCullough
Born, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur R. Palmer of Lamoni
Born, a daughter to Mr.and Mrs. Michael T. McKay of Independence, MO.
