Three animal acts have been booked for the Ringgold County Fair entertainment schedule, according to Merritt Triggs, association secretary. Children and adults will enjoy the antics of Mr. Meeko, the star chimpanzee. Wrestling
fans will find the trained bear act of interest. From Florida, Vic the wrestling bear will demostrate some rather unusual holds during his appearance. Fair-goers will get a look at a high school horse when Bill Donelson from
northwest Iowa puts his favorite animal through the paces.
Mrs. Wayne Peterson of this city, was the guest of honor at a dinner served Friday night in the Shamrock Cafe in Mount Ayr, as a courtesy of the Saladmaster Corporation of Dallas, TX. Concluding the dinner, Mrs. Peterson was
presented a $500 diamond dinner ring by Mr. Pirtle in bahalf of the Saladmaster Corporation.
That old saying abut friends in need being friends indeed was proved out again last week as 15 friends, neighbors and relatives gathered at the Richard Knight farm south of Mount Ayr. The crew went early Firday morning
to rake and bale hay for Mr. Knight, who suffered a severe stroke in March.
