Mount Ayr Record-News Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa Thursday, December 14, 1995
Lisa Wilson, Mount Ayr
A quick response by two grandsons to Beth EASON'S LifeLine call for help saved her from a life-threatening situation
when fire started at EASON'S kitchen stove. EASON, 89, of rural Mount Ayr was heating water for a cup of tea when
two tea towels she was using caught on fire about 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. In an attempt to move from the stove to the
kitchen sink, EASON fell and couldn't get up so she signaled for help. Curt EASON, who lives two miles away from Beth's
home, eight and one-half miles west of Mount Ayr, and Terry EASON, who was visiting from Waukee, came to their
grandmother's rescue when alerted, after Beth pushed a button on the LifeLine apparatus she was wearing.
A Ringgold county man was re-elected to the Iowa State Fair board of directors at the fair's annual meeting last week.
Merritt TRIGGS of Mount Ayr was re-elected to a two-year term on the board, representing district #3. TRIGGS is a
longtime member of the board of directors of the fair.
