The sewing machines started turning over Tuesday morning at the new Mount Ayr Manufacturing company plant as production of caps got underway. A crew of 18 men and women under the direction of plant manager Merle Teeter turned out total of 200 dozen caps in the first day of operation.
Carl G. Riggs was re-elected president of the Tingley State Savings Bank during the annual reorganization meeting held Tuesday night of last week.
J.K. White, Kellerton's eldest resident, was honored April 5, on the occasion of his 96th birthday anniversity. Mr. White has resided in Kellerton for 45 years and has the distinction of always being the first person in that town to plant potatoes and a garden.
Airman First Class David T. Dalrymple, 25, has been awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, at Cam Ranh Air Base, South Viet Nam.
